" Bruno Ecuele Manga? "
Cardiff City paid £3.5mill.
Manga on approx £20,000 plus a week.
Manga voted Cardiff City's player of the Season 2014-15
Virtually ever present
Had a couple of bad games, but over all a solid season.
Its strongly rumoured Manga is for sale.
Would you sell Manga?
Do you rate Manga?
Do we need Manga next season?
Thu May 28, 2015 5:31 am
No sale
Thu May 28, 2015 5:42 am
If he gets sold ill lose all respect for this club,
What's left anyway
Thu May 28, 2015 6:07 am
Never !!!
I would 100% keep him !!!
Thu May 28, 2015 6:29 am
Id we are supposedly looking at some big name players then sell Manga it'll be obvious the intentions. That'll be the last straw as he's stated he wants to stay.
Thu May 28, 2015 7:19 am
He is a top player but you overlook the fact that Manga missed much of the first part of the season due to his commitments in Africa. It want until these ended in Feb that he started to play consistently, and the team improved as a result.
He will have the same commitments next season, so provided any transfer fee is spent wisely, I would accept him going.

If you ask me Manga was the stand-out player in a very poor team last season, if we sell him then we really are going nowhere.

Is the Africa tournament every year then ?

No chance, he is the best centre back in the championship by a mile.
£20k is not a lot of money for a player of his quality at this level.
We should be pushing him to convince one or two of his Gabon team mates to join us rather than him leave because they have some quality youngsters in that squad by the looks of the last African cup of nations.

Tut tut - whilst you remembered the question mark, you forgot to put the title of this thread in capital letters!

- Carl will be upset!

I wouldn't sell to another Championship club but if a fee of £5m was offered from a PL team then yes I would take it, plus we would wipe £1m pa off the wage bill.
Centre-back is the one position where we have plenty of options and could cover the loss.

Oops, quite right. The Cup is every 2 yrs.
However, Gabon will have a series of friendly games during international weeks which will involve travelling massive distances, and Gobon will be involved in an Olympic qualifying tournament in December. I wonder if Manga will be called up?
To some extent my original point still stands, I worry about the effects on the disruption both on Manga and the team, so if he was sold for good money and the proceeds invested properly.
We also have 3 good quality centre backs already and having Turner back will be like having a new player next year.

People seem to forget maybe Manga himself wants a move to better himself!

Certainly not Premier Class but very good for the Championship
Thu May 28, 2015 10:11 am
I think if we keep him then we can build a team around him. He's proven his class and only a bid of £6m or more would be worth letting him go in my opinion. Any less and we're screwing ourselves. Our defence was markedly poorer when he wasn't playing. Yes, he's not flawless but at this level you won't find many better.

He's definitely Premier league class, there's a reason Arsenal and Southampton wanted him.

I'd say he is the only player, along with Marshall who are Premier class.

Completely agree.

Would you sell Manga? I think at 5m then yes I would, if cut backs are being made then he is one of few players we could get a transfer fee for. Im surprised his wages wouldn't be higher though, at 20k is doesn't break the bank compared to some.
Do you rate Manga? Yes, best player last season and a very good championship defender.
Do we need Manga next season? Not sure we "need" him, I think Turner and Connolly are a good partnership and we also have Morrison.

If a decent fee comes in then let him go.

How much is a decent fee?
Thu May 28, 2015 3:16 pm
£5m and yes. We can invest in British talent, players we already have etc. Need to keep down the wage bill. Being on £20k is quite decent though to be honest, would be one of those players who'd be PL ready if he did stay and we went up

£ 3 to 5 mill.

The majority of replies say keep Manga

I think it goes without sagibg , everyone should want to keep Manga. It's just a question of if we can hold on to him.

Luke, I hope we do try and hold on to him as we need some quality next season as well as battlers.

Well said
People on here don't think of all possibilities
Thu May 28, 2015 8:44 pm
But I'd like to to keep him too but if he wants to go I couldn't blame him.
Hopefully we keep him
Something makes me think he'd fit in midfield or just infront of defence !

I don't see us going anywhere near the playoffs annis.
If we can get a fee for players we should. I thought his wages would be more though so if we don't need the fee then ideal to keep.
