He would be a brilliant signing in my opinion. I have seen him on a number of occasions last season and he impressed me a hell of a lot, especially when working in tandem with Swindons right back Nathan Thompson, who is another quality player. Both former Tottenham youngsters with really bright futures. I hope this rumour is true and that Byrne becomes a City player. He would definitely strengthen our right side and he will offer the consistency that Noone does not.

Bloooooobirds.

Would love to have Byrne here. The final wasn't his best perormance of the season but has been the difference for Swindon this season. Would prefer Byrne rather than Luongo.

Watched him in the playoffs, looked a decent player. Has pace and a good work ethic. Mat least he may actually get a decent cross in the box unlike Noone sadly.

Plus QPR want another Swindon player

QPR close to securing deal for highly-rated midfielder

Swindon Town star Ben Gladwin is on the verge of securing a move to recently-relegated QPR.

According to London 24, the midfielder completed his medical at Loftus Road yesterday morning and is close to completing a deal worth around £1.5 million.

There is talk that the deal could be part of a package including Swindon teammate Massimo Luongo. QPR are believed to be one of a handful of sides to have bid for the Australian but Aston Villa remain favourites to secure his signature.

Gladwin finished the season in fine form, netting eight times in the Robins' final seven games of the season.
