' BEN TURNER '

Is Ben Turner the man to lead the Bluebirds ?

Turner for captain ?

Selling Mark Hudson was a mistake in my opinion and in doing so we lost a natural leader, as much as I rate David Marshall I don't believe he is the right choice as captain, a club captain as in an ambassador then yes but on the pitch I am old fashioned in that I believe the captain needs to be outfield and leading from there.

Whether or not Turner is a great talker or motivator I don't know but he is certainly a wear your heart on your sleeve type player, someone who will throw his body on the line to prevent a goal, a player who has shown he will continue to fight to the last minute to defend a goal or even better score one.

Surprisingly he covers ground well and that could be more about timing than pace but I feel a lot easier when I see Turner in the back four.

For me Ben Turner should be a starter in our first team and someone we build the spine of the team around.

What do you think ?

I've always been torn by Turner. I think with a decent centre back partner he could be class. If Manga stays then Turner is the man I want next to him. However, if Manga goes, I'm not confident Turner can lead the back line. He's certainly not my choice for captain. That's Gunnarsson without a doubt.

Ben Turner is the biggest useless clumsy donkey we have had at the club for many a year!! No pace no skill & a liability on the ball he wouldn't even be in my squad never mind the team & captain he's only fit for hoofball belongs in league 2!

best natural defender at the club. With a ball playing CB next to him, the balance is right. Agree that Turner in possession of the football he has his limits and only knows one safe option when flustered, hoof it.

I said Turner a while ago, the obvious choice, my only worry is his injuries, id like a captain who plays the majority of games.

I think Turner is the best natural defender that does what it says on the tin and he is captain material in my opinion. :thumbright:

Natural defender?? His awareness and positioning is poor, distribution and football brain non existent! Turner is at his best steaming back towards goal to put in a big challenge!

Ben should be Captain, distribution sometimes suspect but what he lacks there he more than makes up for in effort and commitment. The guy can defend too great tackler. For me it has to be Ben  :bluebird:

he seems to be one of the few players in this squad that cares about whether we win or lose so he would be a good choice. marshall will probably go and but for that he would have been my choice.

he isn't the best footballer, but this is the championship and he was good enough when we got promoted and he hasn't got any worse, its just he looks worse when he is surrounded by players who don't give a toss.

Agree with this completely and wouldn't have him in my 11 if I was manager.
