Fair to say typical Cardiff, give your players away for peanuts and then they are sold for mega money. Ross McCormack springs to mind as a classic example.

We really do have to sharpen up our act in the transfer market. We've been rubbish for some time whereas the jacks (as much as I hate to say it) have been excellent. The fact is the Club hierarchy know f**k all about football and have no understanding of the transfer market and therefore no transfer policy. I've always said that the best teams on the field have the best teams off the field.....and that includes all aspects of football administration as well as the football coaching, youth set-up, scouting, medical staff and sports science teams. We have a long way to go. We need a proper football man as Chief Executive who also has a good understanding of the financial side of football. It's easy to blame Dave Jones for "giving away" Ross McCormack, Malky for wasting millions on Cornelius and Ole for wasting millions by putting loads of players on ridiculously high wages, and whoever it was who let Rudy go for nothing, but if we'd had the right guys in charge of the purse strings none of this would have happened as there would be some logical consistency behind the scenes.

Didn't we have a sell on clause with Ross McCormack,,,Didn't Peter Ridsdale try to sell him for more than we eventually got at the time? I'm sure our club made a couple of million from his move to Fulham.
As for Arron Ramsey, it was a simple case of a cash strapped club being dictated to, ,,£5 Million, with "no strings",,,Peter Ridsdale didn't really have a choice at the time, did he???

The biggest cock up regarding players leaving over the past few years has got to be Joe Ledley & Adam Matthews, for me anyway. Now that really was bad management, unless anyone knows different?

Yes we made £2m from McCormack sell on clause but Leeds made £11m. The list is endless regarding cock ups in the transfer market because we have no one with football AND finance expertise.

I rated Rudy when he was here, but he didn't really get a chance. Can't say the same about Declan, who gave goals away with poor defensive play at times
