The club have revealed their retained list but the futures of Jem Karacan, Alex Pearce, Adam Federici and Stephen Kelly remain unclear
The future of captain Jem Karacan remains unresolved.
Reading have announced the club’s long-awaited retained list and confirmed Danny Guthrie, Zat Knight, Yakubu and Jure Travner have all been released.
Contract offers have been made to Jem Karacan, Alex Pearce, Adam Federici and Stephen Kelly, but talks are continuing with all four and are not expected to be concluded imminently.
Karacan revealed after the 3-0 success at Derby on the last day of the season that he had received an offer but suggested he was unhappy at the length of the deal, thought to be just one year.
The club captain, who has been linked with Bournemouth and Watford, urged Reading to make him feel valued.
Federici meanwhile has been offered a longer-term deal but is the subject of lots of interest, both from Championship and Premier League teams.
The Aussie stopper would prefer to extend his 10-year stay at Madejski Stadium, however, and talks are set to continue.
