Cardiff City FC sign up their 12 newest young guns for 2015-16

Cardiff City’s newest young guns are ready for action at under-9 level in 2015-16.

The Bluebirds have signed 12 players from around South Wales, including Vale of Glamorgan, Caerphilly, Newport, Rhondda Cynon Taf and Swansea.

They gained experience of football at under-8 level last season and will now form City’s new under-9 team to take on the likes of West Brom, Reading, Bristol City and Swansea in seven-a-side Academy matches next season.

Cardiff’s 2015-16 under-9 squad is (left to right): Gabriele Biancheri (Cardiff); Ruebin Sheppard (Cardiff); Troy Perrett (Vale of Glamorgan); Frazer Herbert (Caerphilly); Daniel Webb (Newport); Osian Rees (Rhondda Cynon Taf) Ronan Kpakio (Swansea); Dakarai Mafico (Swansea); Ben Stancombe (Vale of Glamorgan) Jac Thomas (Rhondda Cynon Taf); Lewys Benjamin (Bridgend); Alfie Lewis (Rhondda Cynon Taf).

Three Cardiff Academy teams are going on tours abroad in the coming weeks.

City’s under-12/13 squad are playing in Paris over the Bank Holiday weekend, while two squads, representing the club at under-11/12 and under-9/10 levels, are in Poland for a tournament next month.

If you believe all the conspiracy yheories, this must be the dregs that were left for us after Swansea took all the best ones?

We will have to keep an eye on the academies 7 a side league next year to get an idea of the quality we lost.
