' RUSSELL SLADE GETS TOUGH '

Slade has told all current players and will be telling all future signings when you play for Cardiff City you have to move to the area or at least close by :thumbright:

Slade wants togetherness :ayatollah: :bluescarf: :bluebird:

Depends on the length of contract on offer I suppose but a good shout none the less.

True, but usually we give 3 year contracts, travelling back and for is no good, just look at Le Fondre, he was not happy, thats why he likes being up North.

Could have a negative affect if player has family who are settled where they already live, depends on the player as well and unless it is in the contract and part of the contract then players may well say no thanks. Vincent Tan lives in Malaysia FFS so he cannot as the owner expect players to do that when he doesn't himself. Also do the club pick up the tab for the new home, expensive if its in the City not so expensive if up Ferndale!

Unless of course they are shite signings and will get a big pay lift then they will sign away. :sladeout: or :sladein: ---Undecided

In theory, it's a great idea. In practice? Hmmm. On the whole though I have to back Slade pushing this idea.

You expect Vincent Tan to move to South Wales..you're avin a larf.
If this was Tans' main income/job/profession then I would agree with you but his main businesses are in the Far East ffs.
Don't think it's too much to ask for players to be close to their employers' place of abode unless of course they have a private helicopter lol.

Good idea. Plenty of flats around the Cardiff area. Doesn't mean that the player would have to sell their house where their permanent base is. Just be around for training, and matches, and not turn up knackered after travelling long distances. Just thinking, did Malky ever move his family to South Wales?

I always assumed players lived relatively close anyway? They are training almost every day in Cardiff so how far do some of them travel?

Sounds like Slade is short on a few 'Whist' partners!

There will be many players at all clubs who will have their families living outside the area of the club, but the player will have an apartment or hotel room and on non training or playing days will go back to them for a day/night. Slade wants all players to relocate completely with their family within two months of signing, I have been told he did the same at Orient

He didn't mind travelling back and forth to Reading, though :sladein:

Le fondre has made it perfectly clear that he doesn't want to be at Cardiff, he had spoken out against Slade and the club club, personally I'd rather He went

Not sure they should be made to relocate their families but agree the player himself should live near by

This is good because Slade will only bring in players who want to play for Cardiff and not be here for just money. :thumbright: :sladein: :ayatollah: :bluebird:

Spot on. I was a fan of Brayford but even pre-season at Yeovil, it was known he wasn't settled here, so better to leave. One of the main reasons that (asides from consistent performance) I'd like to see Marshall end his career here as this is where he wants to be.

Yes

No, all stayed in Watford, I remember they did a piece on Fantasy Football Club or something similar and it was in Malky's house in Hertfordshire

Malky lives near Rickmansworth in Hertfordshire, I drive past his beautiful house a couple of times a week, he has lived for at least 10 years, he never moved his family down to Cardiff. I don't think it's so important for managers as they don't usually have young families like players do
