' Vincent Tan just bought a new club : KV Kortrijk '
it was just announced that Tan bought us. not sure what to think. does this make us sister clubs?

for those who want to know bit more about my team:
we are in the belgian first division again since 2008. are playing for the third time in play off 1 (best six teams after the regular competition, the play offs are organised for the sixth time ) we ended 5th in the regular competition this season.
up to this weekend we were in the running for european football but will be difficult with only three more games left. our trainer renewed his contract three weeks ago but decided to move to another team. the supporters are very angry so not sure if we will have a coach for the three remaining games. our budget is about 8 million euro's. have about 7000 crowd on average. the teams we dislike the most are zulte waregem and fc bruges. some of the hardcore supporters of kortrijk have ties with swansea since more than 10 years. (sorry lol)
our stadium, game against bruges a couple of weeks ago in play off 1:

ex players that you might know are emile mpenza (ex manchester city, shalke) adlene guedioura (wolverhampton, crystal palace) christian benteke (aston villa) stefan mitrovic (benfica, real valladolid) Cheikhou Kouyaté (west ham)
current players: ivan santini (freiburg) darren keet (keeper for south africa during last africa cup)
if you guys would have questions... shoot
if Tan wants to move players between the clubs: i don't see any players that might be good enough for the championshop (unless perhaps ivan santini)

Seems your youth development is pretty good?
Who would you say was your best youth prospect?
What about your league? What are the players like? Are their any good players that could make a move to England be it Prem or Championship? Whos the most exiting in your league?
Sorry for so many questions its just your league has always intrigued since their are so many good Belgian players but you don't here of many coming out of the league (Thumsup)

well sadly none of them (except for the mpenza brothers) came from our own youth. almost all players that i mentioned were without a contract and needed to relaunch their career / were on loan from bigger clubs. perhaps 1 youth player makes it every 3 or 4 seasons. so sadly youth teams are not good at kortrijk. we normally dont pay transfer money but manage to find cheap good players through scouting. more later

Do you play in red? - if not you soon will!

How do you feel being taken over by one of the most hated owners in football? I see your badge is quite plain so expect Dictator Tan to insert some kind of chinese dragon/worm in there, are you confident on your national sides visit to the Cardiff City Stadium v Wales next month? We would settle for a point

Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan adds Belgian Pro League club KV Kortrijk to his growing football empire
Tues 12th May 2015
By Simon Gaskell
Chairman Joseph Allijns welcomed the deal on Tuesday, saying : “This is good news for KV Kortrijk. This afternoon the deal is finalised."
Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan has added to his growing football empire after buying Belgian Pro League club KV Kortrijk for a reported fee of €5m.
Media in Belgium say Tan will travel to Kortrijk, in West Flanders, to outline his plans for the club a week on Thursday, when the club takes on Anderlecht in the play-offs.
The club’s board are set to remain in place and the club, which finished fifth in the table behind FC Bruges, Gent, Anderlecht and Standard Liege, will retain its traditional red and white colours, according to reports.
Confirmation of a deal means Tan has interests in four clubs - the Bluebirds, FK Sarajevo, new American MLS franchise Los Angeles FC and now KV Kortrijk.
Kortrijk have sought investment all season long and chairman Joseph Allijns welcomed the deal on Tuesday, telling Sporza.be : “This is good news for KV Kortrijk. This afternoon the deal is finalised.
“Kortrijk is doing very well, we keep both our feet on the ground and we are financially very healthy. Mr Tan does not have to invest in order to pay off debts.
“The five members of the board will remain on the board and will continue the club’s policy and there might be new voices.
“We are financially a healthy club. Without outgoing transfers we will finish the season with more than €1m profit. This is a phenomenal result. And the new investor will bring new impetus and resources.”
Asked what he knew about Tan, Allijns said: “I do not know him personally but I read the newspaper reports. He began hesitantly in Cardiff, but changed his mind.”
Allijns said he hadn’t met Tan personally but that Cardiff CEO Ken Choo had visited Kortrijk prior to the deal.
“The CEO of Cardiff, the right hand of Tan, has been here to attend two or three games,” he said.
“He (Tan) knows very well how our club is run. This acquisition has been prepared for months. Tan knows very well what he is doing.”
Tan sealed a majority stake in Cardiff in 2010 and formally took over Bosnian side FK Sarajevo 18 months ago.
Then, there was talk of a link-up between the clubs that would see an exchange of playing talent and coaching experience and there has been an age-grade friendly between the sides.
Whether the same relationship between Cardiff and Kortrijk is proposed remains to be seen but Belgium’s status as the third-highest ranked nation in the Fifa rankings means there is plenty of exciting talent in the country.
Nothing prevents Tan having business interests in more than one club so long as they do not compete against each other in European competition.
The Bluebirds owner hinted at his move for Kortrijk and the possibility of becoming involved with another club in the UK last September, saying: “I hope Cardiff get back to the Premier League.
“If I sell Cardiff I will buy another club in the UK. I have a club in Sarajevo. The fans are fantastic.
“The people who run the club are incredible. They really motivate me. I’m looking at another club in Europe and then the MLS.”

I think it's a disgrace owning all these football clubs....even if it worked in our favour, it feels wrong. Basically having feeder teams for the main team, I repeat myself, should not be allowed.

The only logical answer for all parties, Tan is not wanted at this club by the overwhelming majority.
The only link-up I want from Tan's new club is some decent barrels of Belgian beer at the CCS

i have a feeling that he'll announce a new stadium right away. and it looks like he learned from his mistakes, i dont think he has done anything weird in sarajevo. Also our board was pretty warned about the person Tan so i think they made the contract so he can't change anything fundametal. for instance; the board needs to stay (people who manage everything inside), he cant move out of the city with the club if he builds new stadium, etc. i think our previous owner and the city of kortrijk have taken their precautions when they made the contract.
the siter-club-thing is something weird though, wich club is the club were all the good players go at then, probably cardiff so ... i don't know.

Vincent Tan is currently modelling himself on Giampaolo Pozzo

Owner of Udinese, Watford & Grenada in Spain. My opinion is that it should be banned to own so many clubs.
From wiki: The Udinese model is based upon an extensive scouting network across the world that buys young and upcoming talent for relatively small sums and when they turn into stars, sell them on for a large profit which is then reinvested in the club and other signings. Prominent examples include Márcio Amoroso, Fabio Quagliarella, Alexis Sanchez, Kwadwo Asamoah and Samir Handanović.
In 2007-2008 Pozzo was elected the best president in Serie A.
Granada CF
In 2009, he bought Spanish club Granada CF.
Watford F.C
In June 2012, he acquired Watford Football Club from previous owner Laurence Bassini.[3] Over time he has invested heavily in the club, including sending over multiple players from his other teams Granada CF and Udinese Calcio.[4] Some of these players include Almen Abdi, Matěj Vydra and Gabriele Angella. As well as sending multiple players over from his other clubs he signed a £18 Million maintenance deal to renovate their stadium

Does Tan own an American basketball team?
Sure it was mentioned when itt was announced that he is part owner of the new MLS franchise in LA.

Lots of people own a number of clubs. Long term I think it will help us as we are the only one who will benefit.

You'd think he'd get one right before buying another one.

We've yet to buy/loan anyone from Sarajevo, the LA based team will be a bigger market than us

Just because Tan hasn't, doesn't mean that Owners having 3 + more clubs are not getting an unfair advantage by having players easily transferred.
I don't know if MLS is a bigger market as such. A Premier League status would obviously be preferable for Tan's CCFC investment
