As good story tellers often Say.
Once put on a time before the invasion of the foreign legions Division 1 clubs (Pre Premier league) dipped into the 3rd & 4th division to pick out skillful players at bargain prices. Those players are still there and in many ways are there in even greater numbers as the over-paid foreigners have taken more places at the top table. Evidence of this is with likes of Bournemouth and Brentford stepping up and bounding forward with "division 1" players.
As someone mentioned on here the so called stars we have brought in have only risen their bank accounts not risen to any heights on the park!
I say lets go down the route of raiding the lower divisions for players and try to build a side that are hungry on the park. I would say that perhaps the fact that Slade has operated extensively in those divisions he would be well placed to identify those players and with the obvious skills of Trollop along side him the coaching and tactics are in place to get the best out of these players.
I WOULD URGE EVERYONE TO GET THEIR HEADS OUT OF THEIR ARSE AND GIVE THIS STRATEGY A GO NOT SLAG SLAG SLAG!!!!!

I'd rather hard working lower league players than overpaid average higher league players who don't give a shit

Go onto Facebook and go on those fan pages where a story is shared where we're interested in lower league talents and see how many fans are like 'We need to be buying Premier League players' its pathetic

They had a decent manager.
Of course there are excellent players available at lower league level but the chances of finding enough of them to mould into a successful team are surely limited especially when we have a manager as limited in his abilities as Slade.

Just like the lower leagues you haven't seen the full abilitys of Slade... You've seen a small snipet from this season.

Their are so many good players in the lower leagues that haven't had the right opportunity to impress the better clubs or have been released from premier league clubs it's unreal, I'm happy to be scouting these leagues especially since our management has a great knowledge of these leagues

Nothing wrong with it if they are better than what we got. And it's the math of it. You take a lower league manager who didnt get anywhere for 700 games, have him assemble a lower league squad to challenge in the championship. Dosent quite add up does it?!

I've watched swindon town play 8 times this season.
I would get more excited seeing us but any league 1 first teamers like Byrne, Luongo, Kasim, or Swift than any premier league bench warmers.
Young and hungry over expensive and lazy.
A lot of the slaters only know premier league players.
but we need premier league abilities not premier league names and pay.
it wasn't that long ago that we were in the equivalent of league two with earnie gabbidon and legg in their prime. I'd take an equivalent of those three now over anyone for our team.

Let's ignore the 700 odd games without any success in his past career then shall we?
What is it about Slade that encourages you to think that he has the ability to get this club promoted from the Championship?

How many years did Wenger go before last seasons fa cup? And he had far moer riches in talent and money to win something? OK different level but the list is endless of managers who haven't won bugger all in hundreds of games!

I'd rather a manager who had a modern system and bought accordingly.

The biggest concern a pessimist has is that if they fill a team full of lower division players, Cardiff could end up playing there. I don't agree that all players on good money are lazy etc, and lower division players must somehow be more 'hungry' it's just we have bought poorly in recent windows, that's down to the management at the club.
Signing cheap players is less risky, and that can only be a good thing when Slade has never worked with a sizeable budget.
