I usually put a few quid on it but next season I may have to reconsider? Do you think that there is any chance it could be done?
Tue May 12, 2015 10:57 am
Worth a punt.
Tue May 12, 2015 11:01 am
I don't think we'll win the league but am going to stick a couple quid on that and to get promotion either from 2nd place or playoffs, got a real good feeling about next season (Y)

save your money we are chasing div 1 players
Tue May 12, 2015 11:17 am
I predicted us to finish between 12th & 15th at the start of last season, wasn't too far off with that. Impossible to make a prediction yet as we don't know who will be playing for us next season. As things stand, I can't see us doing any better than mid table, but if we sign a few quality players and a few grafters and get the balance right we may be able to challenge for a play off place.

Are you saying Division 1 players can't make the step up because Im sure I just witnessed Bournmouth get promoted with mostly Division 1 players, Callum Wilson signed from Coventry scored 20 goals in league more than our Premiership striker Kenwyne Jones, they only signed 4 players on a permanent this season 2 were from the Prem both didn't play that much. They Andrew Surman who they loaned last season and he played ever game last and this season, so not say "Oh they're shit because they're from lower leagues" thats a fools way if thinking!

Not with Slade in charge, no.

Absolute nonsense, obviously one of them "TAN IM DAMANDING THE DEBT GOES, BUT I WANT US TO SPEND 10MILLION EACH YEAR MAKING SURE WE SIGN OVERPAID PLAYERS WHO JUST WANT THEIR PAY CHECK AND LEAVE WHEN THE GOING GETS TUFF" Every City fan saw at Nottingham last game of season how good we can be, next season once Slade has had a pre season and got all his players in you'll see! The players he's reportedly looking at are young and promosing also play in a different system to our which shows he doesn't want to play 442,

Aaaah... the wonderful blind optimism of pre- season.
Have people forgotten how dire we were for most of last season and the appalling results and performances for almost the whole winter?
Even if Slade does by some miracle buy some decent players over the summer it's highly unlikely that he'll be able to mould them into anything more than a mid table team perhaps threatening the play-offs and he's just as likely to have a side threatened by the possibility of relegation.
Slade may in the long term be able to craft a team capable of challenging near the top of the Championship (though I have seen absolutely nothing from him yet to suggest he can

) but to suggest that City can actually win the league next season is rose tinted bollocks quite frankly.
Keep throwing your money away if you want but that's what you're doing if you seriously believe City can win the league.
Ridiculous.

No blind optimism of pre-season here said since arrived he deserves atleast a pre-season after the awfulness OGS did to this club. Slade has already signed good players so clearly his scouting regime is good (Kennedy, Doyle, McEleny) shown faith in youngsters who we have been screaming to play for a while (Harris, Ralls). Guess you haven't seen our away form? Nor our game at Forrest? Just need to implement that to our home form and we'll be good, I do share everyone feels about our home form it almost sends me to sleep :S but then I see our away form and believe it will be better next season.

Id be delighted if we got anywhere near the play/offs. I would take 4th from bottom in an instant though if offered.
Tue May 12, 2015 12:21 pm
Really can't say as we just don't know what is coming in.
From what I have seen though I think it is going to be a long shot. A good season this time round then perhaps next campaign.
Tue May 12, 2015 1:00 pm
Based on the manager and current squad then it could be a very difficult season with a bottom 6 finish.
If Slade does bring in a few decent players then mid table security.

He's had three quarters of the last season and a transfer window already and almost all of the football has been dire and unattractive. The players you name (Kennedy and Doyle - McEleny is on loan) have yet to prove themselves at Championship level, indeed Slade himself has left both of them out of the team regularly and Doyle would not have played anywhere near as much if Revell had not been injured.
What faith has he shown in Adeyemi? A young player who can't even get on the pitch when those in his position are injured or suspended?
And yes I have seen our away form - I have been to every away game this season (except Leeds

) including Forest. When we start getting results against the top teams in the division rather than wins against the likes of Wigan, Rotherham and the shambles that are both Leeds and Forest then I'll think again.
And don't quote away victories over Watford and Brentford because in both we were absolutely battered and god only knows how we managed to win either of those games.

Last season just gone we started as favourites or there abouts when we were actually promoted we were nowhere near favourites.

Fairplay Rydo, wait till we see what squad we have for next season, then take a punt on Slade's first promotion

Well said! Although I'm not too optimistic I honestly believe next year we will see a vast improvement, play offs is a realistic goal let's get behind the teak and stop bitching!
