anyone warming to slade yet?????

Tue May 12, 2015 10:17 am

I got a funny ole feeling the stubborn ole bugger is starting to turn the corner and i am quite optimistic for the new season..He will at least have players fighting for the shirt and actually care for our club, not like some of grabbers we have had in the last couple of seasons..

Towards the end of the season I was starting to think he needs to go but my opinion has changed and I'm happy to see what he does over the transfer window and give him another season. The fans need to start getting behind him and the team as the pressure from fans must have an effect on the performances.

What I don't understand is people who want the club to tighten the purse strings to bring the debt down but then slate him for bringing in lower league players that they haven't even seen play yet. :sladein:

Think you've still got Ole on the brain.

I'll give him 10-12 games next season. But his methods are archaic at best.

Yeah I thought you were talking about Ole  anyway yeah I would like to see what Slade is going to do next season and give him a chance. :thumbright: :sladein:

Im a weird person to be honest with you I warm to managers when I can see them being treated unfairly. Moyes when he went to ManU I deeply felt sorey for him, clearly the only reason he was in charge was because of SAF and didn't have any support from the board or many of the players and was booted out before the end of the season and replaced with a big name manager the board clearly wanted, but I've gone of topic a bit. Slade, as soon as I heard a lower league manager was going to be incharge I sort of cringed because I knew the reception he would get, the fans were on his back from the very first minute, forgetting how bad our team really was only remembering the transfer fees for these players and thinking that made them good. The first thing Slade was asked to do was to stabilise the team NOT TO GET US PROMOTED. He had to get rid of big money players (Cala, Burgstaller, can't remember the other shite Ole bought in) only person I wish he would have been allowed to keep was Dæhli but he bought in a couple £m so I understand why. The football hasn't really been good but neither was Malkys/OGS football, but If you look at his old team (Orient) they had like the 2nd most goals in the league which is evidence that he likes his teams to create chances and score goals, he also likes hard working players who want to play for the team, given the backing of the board and fans I can see him doing well next season. I for one can not wait for the 2015/16 season <insert Slade in, Thumbs up and the Ayatollah emojis here>

Daehli has played for United reserves, won trophies with Molde and made appearances in the Premier League for us, he was bought by a Bundesliga side. Daehli is better than Kennedy no doubt.

No doubt Dæhli has quility but he is not suited to a wingers position hasn't got the pace nor the crossing abilitys, got alot of stamina though, he's more suited to be a CAM. Also he has only played 2 games from Frieburg and done nothing in them 2 games.

Nothing wrong with your opinion on Daehli vs Kennedy. But Daehli was voted MOM both games he played for Freiburg and been out with jumpers knee since :thumbright:

Daehli is better than Kennedy. Same age, Daehli has won more

im glad im not the only one, i think that slade will do a good job given the fans backing and time to put his stamp on things, next season is going to be a big season for him and the team,no more excuses will be accepted and i dont want to hear the word transition again, but i think that he can get us playing and towards the end of the season he was getting results to even if they was inconsistent. as a fan base we need to get behind the team and give them 100% backing adn make sure we are making the ground a [place the players enjoy playing in because having their own fans getting on their backs cant help. :sladein:

Re: anyone warming to slade yet?????

I will support Slade next season as he is our manager, I wont get on his back at matches as I always get behind my team, but I do not rate him or believe in him.

He's won more in a poor league, doesn't mean he's better! I could win a few trophies in my local sunday league, doesn't mean I'm better than Kennedy! !!!

Didn't realise that he had tbh, I don't really follow the Bundesliga only when its on BT and havn't seen anything that Freiburg have played in as well, I just went of of what WhoScored had as the poster had referenced them, it also didn't say anything about any MOM awards, glad to see he started well. Injury must have been a bad one to keep him out so long. Do you know of what position he has played for them?

Both left wing and Amc. They won't risk him and might look for a surgery in the summer. Very important long term player for the club as their director said :thumbright:

No , I think he is out of his depth in this league he gets found out to much at this level with his dinosaur tactics , I will support him as manager if he is still here but I don't think he is good enough .If he is our manager next season(highly unlikely to change) then I hope he can prove me wrong but can't see it

Well it's certainly going to be an interesting summer & start to next season to see Slade's signings, formation & performances.
For me, I have no faith in him to deliver exciting football or the play-offs
