Sam Morsy

Watched the Preston v Chesterfield play-off on sunday and was impressed with Morsy. Kept the ball well, passed effectively long and short, kept play moving well and looks a strong lad. Even though they lost 3-0 I was impressed with Chesterfield's style of play. Lots of passing and moving and lots of near misses but Preston hit them on the break. Clucas played as a striker rather than on the wing. Tall, lanky and quick but didn't look strong enough to play as lone striker.

I thought both of them looked well short of Championship standard.

Based on his two performances in the play offs I do not consider that he is any better than what we have at the moment. If anything I would say that he is behind the standard of the players we have.

Relatively ineffective and did very little running. I was led to believe that he was a box to box midfielder, did not see that at all.

I watched both games, Morsy just another Gunnarson.. playing in a lower league, wouldn't offer us anything different to what we have already

How can you judge a player on two televised play~off games.

He has had a very good season in a team that has punched above its weight and have a relatively small squad for the division.

He works very well with Doyle and was the Spireites player of the season last year.

His work ethic is fantastic, the only down side with him is his temperament at times.

Worth a punt at £750k and low wages.
