" Money spent just in the last 2 transfers to stay in the Premier League "

QPR Spent £33 Mill Now Relegated
Burnley Spent £8.5 Mill Now Relegated
Hull City Spent £42.6 Mill At mom 3rd from Bottom.
Newcastle Spent £37.5 Mill At mom 4th from Bottom.
Sunderland Spent £14 Mill At mom 5th From Bottom
Leicester Spent £20.7 Mill At mom 6th from Bottom.
Aston Villa Spent £9.9 Mill At mom 7th from bottom looking safe :thumbright:

Many clubs spend unbelievable amounts to stay up,then when they are relegated virtually skint, parachute payments just about save them.

Between Malky and Ole, City spent about £65 million  Bad business from the very top,no control of our finances.

have to agree malky was the worst Like a kid in a sweet shop ,I can't help feeling that Dave Jones would if done better with the money than all of them

He was supported and some of that money Ole spent as well.

Yes Malky was given money, but was also had Tan on his back 24/7.

I think there are two ways of looking at it

Firstly on the face of it Malky spent £47m and only made £6m in transfers received - net spend £41m
Ole spent £21m but made £26m - net spend -£5m
Slade spent £1.2m but made £1.7m - net spend -£0.5m

Obviously this makes Malky look completely incompetent BUT

The players Malky spent £47m on have been sold for £30m and we still have T-C, Moore, Noone, Connolly, Turner, Mason, Gunnarsson and Harris who may have some value. Net spend £17m
The players Ole spent £21m on have recouped only £1m so far with Manga, Morrison, Le Fondre, Adeyemi, Fabio and Pilkington still around. Net spend £20m

To me this makes Malky look like a genius because he effectively got all that TV money in return for £17m where as Ole spent more and left us with the squad we currently have. Obviously won't know final amounts until there are no Malky or Ole players left.

I've taken all the values from transfermarkt website. It shows ? for the sales of Gestede, Conway and Taylor and the purchase of Healey so Malky's figures are probably slightly better than shown.

I second this, I also think he would have kept us up. It wouldn't have been pretty but I think he would have and despite the money spent we would be a lot better off financially with another year guaranteed in the riches of the prem. All if but and maybe. It's done now, we must move forward. :bluebird:

Not turning this into a malky thread
we all have our opinions

transfer fees are also spiraling out of control at almost doubling every season scary times for the relegated clubs

I agree when you look at those figures, but Malky was new and naive to the Premier League.
I will remember Malky for Runner way Champions and drawing with the Mighty Liverpool at Wembley, plus unite our fans behind his trojan players :thumbright: :thumbright: :ayatollah: :bluescarf: :bluebird:

Jack, Malky should be Knighted compared to Ole :thumbright: :thumbright:

Wez, Clubs will go further in to debt to get there next season.

Burnley done the right thing with Dyche, not giving him money as he can't be trusted to spend it. But, they are sticking with him & I predict Burnley will be strong next season as there squad won't have the upheaval. Le Fondre replacement for Ings is a good shout

Sorry to butt in here, but I realise sacking Malky wax probably inevitable, but had he stayed, I agree that he had the balls to keep the club up. His spending has been put under the microscope and yes, he did drop a changer with Cornelius. However, it is easy to forget th hat a new club with no recent top flight history will always struggle to attract top players. Even if you do get a star, you're more likely to pay over the odds and possibly forfeit any sell-ons.

That's the harsh reality of the top flight.

In fact, this season hasn't seen a huge implosion, but rather a managed trimming of the squad and wages.

If money wasn't owed to Tan, it would be looking quite rosy.

The big clubs will always pay more for the best players which stops other clubs becoming successful as they can't compete. Its not the size of your support these days its the size of your wallet. Its the same every season Clubs like Bornemouth,Burnley,Wigan,Hull etc. do well to get there but haven't the financial muscle to stay long term.

Malky asked for even more money in January despite the 'warchest' he was given in the summer, we had Arsenal, Man City and Man United away in January, do you really think we wouldn't have been in the relegation zone then?
