Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan tipped for yet another takeover... at top flight Belgian club Kortrijk

Reports in Belgium suggest the Bluebirds supremo is on the brink of a £3.6m deal to take control of the first division side
Vincent Tan has again been tipped to takeover another club after switching his attentions to Belgium’s KV Kortrijk to become Cardiff City’s latest ‘sister club’.
Bluebirds owner Tan was last month reportedly in talks with Belgian top-flight outfit Mouscron about an investment tie-up, something later denied by the Cardiff hierarchy but not by the Belgian club themselves.
But now it seems the Malaysian is ready to plough cash into another ProLeague team in Kortrijk after several reports of Tan making a 5million Euros (£3.6m) takeover offer.
Kortrijk – whose home colours are red and white – finished fifth in the Belgian first division and have been looking for investors all season.
And with Tan previously having admitted he is looking to buy into another European club, Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad is claiming a deal is on the cards, though the club themselves have not commented.
As well as the majority stake in the Bluebirds he sealed in 2010, Tan formally took over Bosnian side FK Sarajevo 18 months ago with his cash injection helping them to within touching distance of the title and Champions League football.
Although there has been little obvious evidence of the benefits to the Bluebirds aside from a solitary age-grade friendly, the claim at the time of Tan’s Sarajevo investment was that a partnership between the clubs would see an exchange of playing talent and coaching experience.
It has been suggested Tan’s potential Belgian buy-in would be based on a similar idea with the country currently boasting a rich seam of young talent.
Several Belgian stars have made big money moves and big impressions in the Premier League and the national side – rivals in Wales’ Euro 2016 bid – are presently third in the Fifa rankings.
If a deal is struck, Kortrijk would become Tan’s fourth club following on from Cardiff, Sarajevo and his minority stake in new American MLS franchise Los Angeles FC.
Tan was last summer also reported to have held talks with Portuguese side Beira-Mar and has again been touted as a potential buyer of the club.
There is nothing preventing Tan having business interests in more than one club providing they do not compete against each other in European competition.
Tan claimed in September he would be prepared to continue his football empire expansion, including the possibility of buying a further British club if he cashed-in on the Bluebirds.
“I hope Cardiff get back to the Premier League. If I sell Cardiff I will buy another club in the UK,” he said. “I have a club in Sarajevo. The fans are fantastic.
“The people who run the club are incredible. They really motivate me. I’m looking at another club in Europe and then the MLS.”

He's playing monopoly again, hope he gets bored with us soon, keeps to his word on leaving us in a better position than when he arrived and save face on the FIFA front. The guy is a cancer to our club, why or why did he choose us to learn the ropes of a very specialist field of business. He needs to leave to convince the unconvincabal to return to the CCS with him around he's left a huge posentive of our fan based dissalusual with the way he's conductucted himself since he's taken over the reigns, divide & conquer etc. BLUEBIRDS

He may well be looking to bring in players from this club which can help get the club back up on the cheap.
It worked for Watford

Why don't we loan development players to Sarajevo? Is because it's not Northern Europe, how many players careers does he want to ruin with cash carrots? I like to be optimistic about this development helping City but I'm far to sceptical on all VT's "plans for the future" ie training ground, liquidising the Debt etc Rant over. BLUEBIRDS
