Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Ilkay Gundogan, according to Metro.
Gundogan announced last week that he will not be signing a new contract with Dortmund. The contract expires in 2016 and Borussia Dortmund will look to cash in on the German International.
Reports last week suggested United had agreed a £21million transfer fee for the player, and this deal now looks like going through.
Reliable German source Der Westen also reported that the midfielder is set to join Manchester United this summer. BVB have already confirmed that the player has asked to leave.
Gundogan would be a perfect replacement for Michael Carrick. United have suffered back to back defeats without his presence.
Gundogan is 24 and will the perfect signing for United. The Manchester club is also interested in Gundogan's teammate Mats Hummels. Who is also reportedly agreed to join Manchester United in the summer. Signing both these player will be a massive boost for United.
