Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan has his sights set on adding to his football club ownership. despite having what can only be described as a turbulent few years with the Welsh side, Tan is eager to experience more football ownership and has this time turned his attention to Belgium.

According to Belgian newspaper Sport Wereld, Tan has put forward €5m to purchase KV Kortrijk and some reckon that the deal is as good as done. At the very least the two sides are in advanced negotiations about a deal and things could be completed very quickly indeed.

KV Kortrijk are in the top division in Belgium and have had a good season ahead of the country's play-off system at the end of the football calendar. The investment sounds small but Tan would be expected to back it up with support for the club with transfers.

Should the deal go ahead then KV Kortrijk could turn into an interesting partner for Cardiff City, it's not too difficult to believe that Tan may have a plan to loan players between the two clubs and strike up something of an official partnership. That could turn out to be beneficial or an absolute nightmare for everyone involved, Cardiff fans probably wouldn't be too optimistic.

hi i am on this forum because i am a supporter of kv kortrijk, the team that Vincent Tan is supposed to buy.

We are losing our sh*t over this news. the belgian and english press makes him look like a clown / psycho. should we be very worried? or has he done good things as well?

Well if your team is red and your manager is not a racist and you have got bargain players then you should be fine.

our coach signed a new three year contract two weeks ago, he is very popular with the supporters. this evening (after our loss against standard liege) the news got out that the coach is leaving !!! we have no idea if it has something to do with Tan.
as you can see the supporters blocked the players bus and it got very tense after the game (the fact that we lost 4-0 didn't help either)

it was just announced that Tan bought us. not sure what to think. does this make us sister clubs?

for those who want to know bit more about my team:

we are in the belgian first division again since 2008. are playing for the third time in play off 1 (best six teams after the regular competition, the play offs are organised for the sixth time ) we ended 5th in the regular competition this season.
up to this weekend we were in the running for european football but will be difficult with only three more games left. our trainer renewed his contract three weeks ago but decided to move to another team. the supporters are very angry so not sure if we will have a coach for the three remaining games. our budget is about 8 million euro's. have about 7000 crowd on average. the teams we dislike the most are zulte waregem and fc bruges. some of the hardcore supporters off kortrijk have ties with swansea since more than 10 years. (sorry lol)
