one day after the general election

Sat May 09, 2015 6:19 am

An Email I just sent to the BBC - unbelievable ignorance.

Dear BBC,

On the Morning of Saturday 9th May 2015 @ 06.10 hrs, One day after the General election result the BBC breakfast news Had a Guest named Professor Vernon ? on the Red sofa.

I find one of his comments very offensive and just factually wrong and misleading.

He was commenting on the results of the UK general election and said that " The SNP speaks for Scotland, Plaid Cymru speaks for Wales but who speaks for England"?

Quite clearly following the results, the SNP do speak for Scotland winning 56 seats from 59 - a clear majority.

In Wales however, Plaid Cymru won 3 seats from 40 and equally clearly DO NOT speak for Wales. In fact Plaid Cymru lost share of the vote.

How can a supposed intelligent and informed professor make such a misinformed comment on UK national news.

Please BBC pick your so called experts carefully and who will inform the UK public with Facts not misconceptions.

Many regards . ******************

The BBC is biased and gets millions from the EU each year. It has its own agenda to spread and also the EU federalism agenda to spread.

Plaid always speak for the nation.

When they represent 150k worth of a country of 3 million +.

"The tories will never have a mandate to rule in Wales" in your opinion

" the people of wales dont want another tory government " in you opinion.

Scotland speaks for itself and the message they have given is they are fed up of Labour.

Wales speaks for itself and the message it gives is that we are stuck in the rut of voting for Labour.

Scotland can now 'think' for itself, whilst Wales is still the 'Land of My Fathers" and also their blinkered voting habits!

Baaaa, Baaaa, Baaaa!!!!

I dont know where you got that from. It was Labours worst performance in Wales since 1912 and more places are now Tory.

It baffles me how people complain to Ofcom and stuff as I don't understand how people get so offended or annoyed to the point they feel they should do it. If I dont like something on TV I turn it over or don't watch it again. If its factually incorrect, who cares? Only an idiot who doesn't do any research would take the words of anyone as valid without doing some research themselves.

The Professor is wrong, but probably better off writing to the BBC re; ageism, covering up for paedophiles, and quotas on the basis of the colour of your skin.

Not to forget the poor standards in broadcasting over the last twenty years. That girl on Radio Wales in the afternoon who took over from Roy Noble, does anybody know what thats all about..or indeed what she's saying..sounds like a parrot with a poker up its arse.......

Waste of time writing at all, you'll get some tripe about the Prof not representing the views of the Beeb blah blah.

Sadly, we don't have a button for Forum Members to "turn you off" when they don't like something you say, James

Referring to another Member (albeit by inference) an "idiot" isn't very good either, fella!

I'd rather be hated for telling the truth than liked for being false. I'm in this business and life to make money, not to be liked. Sorry, but self esteem doesn't pay bills or feed families. Money does. Time for people to get real.

Actually it was Labours worse performance since the last world war finished not the first world war. Adding to that their votes has been consistent since then where there vote has slightly dipped in eras of discontent such as the James Callaghan and Michael Foot reigns and has peaked after the disasterous John Major period. In fact their performance this time around is far superior to 1912 where they only had 6 seats.
