'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Jordan Mutch hasn't really enjoyed a good 12-months or so has he? He was relegated with Cardiff, had a disappointing spell with QPR and since his Palace arrival has been troubled by injury.

Although he's hopeful that this is all behind him now having made his return from a thigh strain, sustained against West Ham in February that kept him out until mid-April, in the defeat at Chelsea last Sunday.

Mutch says that he feels good with it his aim now to get his match fitness back by playing as many minutes as he can in the final weeks of the season to end this campaign on a high.

Whatever happens though it will clearly be better than last season when he went down with Cardiff and how it would have been had he stayed at QPR, who look destined to go down this season!

'I feel good and hopefully I can get more minutes under my belt in the up and coming games.

'The rehab has been really good and I feel in good shape, but obviously with the games you need to match fitness, so I'm just trying to do that now.

'We have picked up points in the last few months, but I've been working hard on the training pitch and we'll see where that takes me.'

I do like, and rate, Mutch and think we'll see plenty more from him next season.

Between now and then though the more he can play the better as it will send him into the summer break positively and then he, like the rest of the squad of course, can target pre-season to come back stronger and have a successful first full season at Selhurst Park.

I always thought he was a player with huge potential who never really fulfilled it. Too inconsistent. If he played at his best more often then he'd be Premier League class. Not sure I'd even want him back with us right now. The injuries he is picking up are of a concern.

Rate him so mutch, he will improve for Palace I'm sure.

Never seemed to perform for the whole 90 minutes and was injury prone.

16 professional goals in his career....... I believe we have an inflated view of him

Overrated by U.S. Because we've had so many poor central midfield players over the years.

Injury Prone, blows hot and cold, goes hiding.

If he wasn't plagued with injuries, he would be a top half Premiership player by now. He needs to settle at a club, stay injury free for a full season and have a run of games to show how good he can be.

I really rated him, our midfield has been weak since he left!!!!

The goals he scored at Craven Cottage & Hawthorns for us last year stand out as highlights for me... place went wild on both counts

I think he is decent in the right system but I do think generally our fans overrate him.

He would never fit into a slade 4-4-2 that's for sure.
