Form at the End of the Season

Thu May 07, 2015 3:08 pm

The last 10 matches of the season we earned 18 points. If that form had been achieved throughout the 46 matches we would have gained 83 points and finished in 4th place. Now to sustain that form throughout the season is not easy, but I believe that in the words of others we are turning the corner and with a few key additions we have the basis of a good squad for next season to have a genuine shot at the top six.

I MAKE NO APOLOGIES FOR A POSITIVE POST! :bluescarf:

The last 10 matches were played under the least amount of pressure, season virtually over with nothing to play for

I am a big believer in end of season form being carried forward into the following season.

So a good start for us and a shit one for Derby.

Thats just an excuse really. You could say the same for the first 10. First 10, some will fight to push ahead of the pack whereas others will take it easier and try to pace themselves to avoid falling at the last hurdle. Look at Reading when they went on that immense run. Had they went all out at the beginning the likelihood is they would have burnt out. Far too many variables at place throughout the entire season to break down the argument to such a simple form.

The problem I, and many, have with Slade is not the results so much, its that when he makes a good change and its glaringly obvious that its worked and had a good effect, he then baffingly reverts to type and we then play poorly again. He doesn't seem to have great awareness of what is going on and the influence of his own decisions on the team. That is the most worrying thing. If he had a greater awareness the results would come naturally from improved decision making and tactical setup.
