Cardiff City: Vincent Tan gives Slade go ahead to chase targets
BBC
Thursday 7th May 2015
Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan has given Russell Slade the go ahead to chase transfer targets this summer.
Manager Slade believes Cardiff need at least three "quality" players to mount a Championship promotion campaign next season.
"Vincent's [Tan] already given the green light for a couple of targets," he said.
"We've got two or three little packages lined up for him to review and see if we get some joy from them."
Aside from additions Slade says he also hopes to hold onto important players such as goalkeeper and captain David Marshall.
"Since I've been here... there's been interest in David," says Slade.
"I think it's key to hang on to our top players, our quality players because there's still a lot of building that's got to go on between now and the start of the season.
"I would like to think David would be a part of that."

I like that Slade is only getting a minimum amount of players unlike what Ole did.

What if Slade loses his targets while waiting to get the nod from Tan?. It's absolutely ridiculous how everything has to be presented on paper before a decision is made considering he re-branded the club on a whim.

People will find fault with the fact that Transfer targets have to be cleared with Tan, There is no pleasing some people. Ole was allowed to run riot last Summer and everyone has since said that there was no control from within the club!
So now there is control on what the Budget is going to be "THAT'S WRONG" Any organisation what ever its operation is, has to work within budget guidelines,
Fact and signed off by management.
Its just as well that the keyboard worriers on here don't run the club otherwise we would be in an even bigger mess

wasnt the fact that malky spent without control was main complaint against club as debt levels increased?

I would much rather the approach of signing a few players as opposed to just chucking money at the issue that never works , I think the club are being sensible here in only getting a few more players in

I prefer Tans approach to Scam Hammans anyday.

Hopefully 2 of them are Morsy and Luongo, I'd love to see them playing down here.

no chance of a top 6 finish with 2-3 players signed on low wages and the club should admit it. All opinions of course, and that is mine

I just hope we have enough to keep us up.
