The Good the Bad and the Ugly

Tue May 05, 2015 11:04 pm

The three seniors players released yesterday.

THE GOOD
Kevin McNaughton, Excellent servent in his nine years at the club with real cult hero status.

THE BAD
Danny Gabbidon,Still trying to fathom out why we ever signed his salary, just money down the pan.

THE UGLY
Nicky Maynard, remember watching his home deput when we played Huddesfield and he terrorise their defence with his attacking nouse until that horrific injury, watching him trying to regain that level of standard was just pityful.

Maynard was injury plagued when he joined us and the vast majority of our fans were sceptical about his signing at the time. He's far from the same player he was when he was at Bristol City. League One at best now and that's if he even goes a season playing more than 10 games.

As for Gabbidon, that transfer stumped me too. In his pomp he was a class act but he's been below par for a while now. Seemingly didn't even have what it takes as a coach either which is disappointing.

McNaughton, well, we all know how we feel about him. Legend!

My worzel mates told me if you keep Maynard fit hell of a player, but it's unlikely that you will. Until that injury he looked a great signing. :bluebird:
