Dougie Freedman believes Russell Slade does not deserve to be under fire at Cardiff.
The former Notts County boss has had calls for his head from some supporters, after the Welsh club failed to mount a promotion push, following their relegation from the top flight.
But Forest manager Freedman insists Slade has done a good job of steadying the ship with tomorrow's opponents.
"It feels similar to what we had at Bolton," said Freedman. "We had players there who felt they were better than they were. They wanted to get out and then, when they didn't, they did not always give 100 per cent.
"I have seen it all before, they feel as though the club owes them something.
"I do know the Cardiff chairman very well, from when they tried to get the young boy Zaha on loan from us at Palace. I helped him with that situation. He is a decent fella and he wants the best for his club.
"But they are working with individuals at the minute. They have fantastic talent, but it is individual talent at the minute. Because of the many changes, in and out, they are yet to be moulded into a team."
Freedman believes Slade deserves praise.
"Russell (pictured) has a very difficult job. Where they have finished, it is a respectable position," he said. "People will say that club should be up near the top, but I have been there before. Steadying the ship is a good achievement."
Freedman will be looking to ensure Cardiff's season ends with one last disappointment, however.
"It is a game that, if we start right and do things right, we can win," he said.
Is Freedman right about Slade? Have Cardiff fans undervalued the job that Slade has done at Cardiff?

Freedman and Slade two of a kind - limited managers who peddle mediocrity.
Neither of them have had any success in their management careers and neither of them are likely to have any in the future.

Our fans are beginning to look like a bunch of spoilt brats.
There's still a massive job to be done this summer.
How on earth were the last 2 managers allowed to get us so deep in the shit ?

Freedman is not the first manager to come out recently and praise slade for doing a good job at Cardiff. It is no coincidence that he saved orient from relegation in his first season. Had two top half finishes in his 2nd and 3rd season and achieved a play off final in his final season all on the lowest budget in all Four divisions. Then the season he leaves despite significant investment (jobi mcanuff) they have got relegated.

Good point regarding the other mangers.
But that doesn't mean slade is the right manager and everyone is spoil brats. I think we could all run off a list of reasons he isn't up to it.
It not about wanting more its about wanting a direction and a plan.
Personally if have trollope in charge, more in hope.

Strange isn't it
30 free transfers and they challenge for promotion
Yet the man isn't good enough to manage at this level
Willing to give him more time anyone can see the club is not going to be shelling out vast amounts of money on players etc let the man finish the job he's started by removing not the rest of the shite we have at the club and going again
Could take him 3 seasons to build what he wants and expects here miracles not performed in 8 months
This club was aness after ole left from top to bottom

Our fans have always been more knowledgeable than the pro's that run the game.
