My first ever league game at Ninian Park.
Awesome day.
Just disppointed my uncle wouldn't let me and my cousins go on the pitch
First match was a friendly against Forest the previous season.

Yeah I was there. What a season that was. Then the next game after that was at Eastville when Jeff Hemmerman got injured.

I was there,lost my breath in the crush to get on the pitch,and came home with andy dibble's sleeve from his goalkeepers jersey.

Not forgetting his brother Gary Bennett either, another very talented footballer who went on to have a good career in the old 1st division. I was there on the pitch that day too. Shame we didn't have the finance to hang on to the Bennett boys in those days. Also losing Jeff Hemmerman forever in the way game at Rovers the following week was a real blow and Bob Hatton, who had a great season with us that year, was very much at the end of his career by then. The dark days returned with a real vengeance a few seasons later
