Fed up with ticket office

Fri May 01, 2015 3:14 pm

Don't understand this? Just had letter from club regarding my season ticket. No info says to phone them. Get through and they want me to move the seat that I have had since the stadium opened as they are shutting block 123 in family stand. I am really pissed off about this as ONE of the reasons I renewed is that I like my seat. It's not the only reason but a pretty big one. I have two kids who when they first started coming as season ticket holders were 5 and 3 so we had seats on the end of an aisle. Admittedly they are older now but you get used to your seat and I like the people who I sit by and know they had renewed to etc. Part of the experience is chatting to the people by you over the season.

I know it doesn't sound much but as I have shown the commitment to buying 4 season tickets don't see why I should be pissed about when many have deserted. What sort of ambition does it show when many sections of the ground are being shut? My old man who goes with me is late 60s so he doesn't want to be banged anywhere either. If they are cutting two blocks of the family stand then there wont be much of it left. Surely season ticket holders should have some sort of say in where they sit in a stadium.

Same happened to us. Renewed a while back and then found out via the grapevine that 123 and half of 123/124 was closing. I'd heard rumours so decided to keep an eye on it, as the ticket office originally said that there was no plan to close 123. Luckily, I called the office on the day that it was finally decided so I managed to move our seats early to make sure that we got the best available. I was able to move several of the people who sit around us so we are all still sat together as we have been in the same seats since it first opened. I loved the spot as its next to the away fans so you get a bit of atmosphere and banter. So, at the Blackpool game, other ST's near us still hadn't been officially informed and it was only last Monday that the ticket office started to make contact - almost a month after making the decision to close the stand. Our new seats are fine but I don't like the fact that we had to move in the first place & found out about the closure by pure luck.

What galls me is that the club are in disarray over lack of ST sales but just what do they expect when they treat long standing ST's who have actually renewed like this? I hate the term 'matchday experience' but if I was managing this, I would be in the office at 6:30am tomorrow to perform open-heart surgery on the current process & operations, as it is, for want of a better word, completely shit. See you at Forest tomorrow.

As they call you a customer, I feel they should compensate you :thumbright:

I sit in block 123 and haven't received any info yet. Will be stuck in the front row knowing my luck. They could've stated this before I had renewed for next season.

I'd call or go in ASAP, you'll be fine choosing where you want to go but I'd do it now as the better seats will go. It's not right that loyal ST's are treated like this and especially when the club are trying to get more to renew. Clueless.

Sent this letter to ticket office today. Await their reply. Really don't want to stop going as love the City but don't like the attitude over this and the fact the letter telling me showed no apology for any inconvenience. If they contact me and show a bit of appreciation then will probably just move seats but they sold the season ticket by the end of March on guaranteeing your seat for next year. If I knew it was any old seat then I would have kept my money in my bank till July/August and then probably renewed. It has been sold on false premise.

Dear Mr Nash

Had a letter from you today asking me to contact you regarding my season tickets. There was no info on there just to phone you. When I got through the lady said that you want me to move the seat that I have had since the year the stadium opened as they are shutting block 123 in family stand. I am really annoyed about this as ONE of the reasons I renewed is that I like my seat. It's not the only reason but a pretty big one. I have two kids who when they first started coming as season ticket holders were 5 and 3 so we had seats on the end of an aisle. Admittedly they are older now but you get used to your seat and I like the people who I sit by and know they had renewed too etc. Part of the experience is chatting to the people by you over the season.

I know it doesn't sound much but as I have shown the commitment to buying 4 season tickets don't see why I should be messed about when many have deserted. Surely at the moment you should be thankful for people like me and the 4000 others who have continued to commit to supporting the team week in week out.

What sort of ambition does it show when many sections of the ground are being shut? My Dad who goes with me is late 60s so he doesn't want to be bunged anywhere either. If they are cutting two blocks of the family stand then there wont be much of it left. Surely season ticket holders should have some sort of say in where they sit in a stadium. Last week I saw there were loads of tickets given to children and as I teach in a school I gave them away to some of our kids. Instead of shutting sections you could increase offers like this. I have worked with some of the boys from the club who come out to the schools and regularly promote the club when running football festivals at my school and run a girls team taking many of the players to matches. However it is becoming increasingly hard to continue showing the level of commitment to the management and boardroom of the club as they seem to have no regard for fans.

What really annoys me though is there is no apology for any inconvenience in the letter or chance to maybe come and have a look at a new seat. You just expect us CUSTOMERS which we are now called not fans to accept any old situation and get on with it. In view of this I would like to cancel my 4 season tickets and get a full refund. I will then pick and choose my games and wait for the inevitable offers on Amazon Local and Groupon if I wish to attend the games.

I am sorry that it has come to this but the season ticket does not seem to have much value at the moment. The arrogant way that the fans were treated in years when we were successful is now coming back to haunt the club. I would like some confirmation that this email has been received and a refund sent. If you want to contact me to discuss the matter then please do.

Yours faithfully

Another example of the shoddy, pathetic way the club is being run. I live equidistant between Cardiff City and Swansea City. Why do I care about either? Because I love football. Back in the 1970's I could catch a bus to either city. Now I Can't get a direct bus to either - David Cameron etc take note!! I still love the Bluebirds, but the Jacks are becoming an ever more attractive option, Annis is there some way you can help to get this underlying message to the eyes that really matter? We all know who they are, but they appear to be untouchable/unreachable. Like many others I have enjoyed the recent visits to Wembley and the premiership, but bring back the odd cup game against the "giants" and get our City back.

A move to anywhere in the ground at no extra cost for the 2015/16 season would be a nice "good will" gesture ;) can't see that happening though lol

Reasonable customer service would be a letter of apology, an invite to come in to view and choose your seats and a gesture of goodwill for the kids, like a City shirt or the like. Mind you, if they offered my lad a City shirt he'd say that he wouldn't wear that tacky Cosway/Classic Sports pub football team tat. Good letter, let us know how you get on.

Exactly. Maybe not even the shirt but just some sort of acknowledgement that this could be an inconvenience to people and an apology and come and view a seat. If you saw the letter it read as if I had done something like my card was refused or something.

Christ knows who is in charge of customer relations but they are about as useless as the rest of the lemons down there.
