" Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan could be set to invest in Belgian side Mouscron as he expands football empire "

The Cardiff City owner, who already shares with sides in Bosnia and the United States, is being linked with Belgian top flight side Mouscron
Vincent Tan could be ready to expand his football empire even further after being linked with a FOURTH club.
The Cardiff City owner, who already shares with sides in Bosnia and the United States, could soon also be involved with Belgian top flight side Mouscron.
It could see the Bluebirds have a link up with the Belgian outfit, which could even lead to player swaps.
A similar deal Mouscron had in place with French side Lille has just come to an end.
It is almost five years ago since Malaysian money-man Tan took his first steps in football when he completed his original investment into the Bluebirds, becoming majority shareholder in May 2010.
He has since snapped up Bosnian side FK Sarajevo in December 2013, before then buying into new American MLS franchise LAFC earlier this season.
That portfolio could increase further after reports in Belgium claimed a business partner of Tan has visited Mouscron to view the facilities and hold initial meetings.
When contacted by WalesOnline, Mouscron said they had nothing to add to the reports.
Mouscron were 13th out of 16 teams in the Belgian League ahead of the end of season play-offs, with FC Bruges and Anderlecht heading the division.
Belgium is seen as one of the up and coming forces of world football, with a crop of brilliant youngsters being produced and joining leading clubs in Europe.
If Tan’s deal goes through, it may give the Bluebirds the opportunity to tap into some of that Belgian talent.
Tan was last summer also strongly suggested to have held talks with Portuguese side Beira-Mar – the former club of World Cup icon Eusebio – and has again been touted as a potential buyer of the club.
There is nothing preventing Tan having business interests in more than one club providing they do not compete against each other in European competition.
Aside from the Bluebirds, Tan’s involvement with FK Sarajevo has seen him publicly back the Bosnian club, with his investment widely regarded as being the spearhead for last year’s domestic cup triumph.
They are currently top of the Bosnian Premier League and heading for the Uefa Champions League, having axed two high-profile managers – Robert Jarni and Meho Kodro – in the last 12 months.
Tan claimed in September he would be prepared to continue his football empire expansion, including the possibility of buying a further British club if he cashed-in on the Bluebirds.
“I hope Cardiff get back to the Premier League. If I sell Cardiff I will buy another club in the UK,” he said.
“I have a club in Sarajevo. The fans are fantastic. The people who run the club are incredible. They really motivate me. I’m looking at another club in Europe and then the MLS.”
