" Stuart O’Keefe must start at Nottingham Forest "

Monday 27th April 2015

By Terry Phillips

We haven’t seen enough of O’Keefe and he showed against Blackpool he has plenty to offer.

The 24-year-old has energy to burn, a talented midfield player with Premier League experience with Crystal Palace this season. He went on for the injured Joe Ralls against Blackpool and slotted in well alongside Aron Gunnarsson.

Let’s have another look at O’Keefe against Forest. And if Ralls is fit I would go for those two ahead of Peter Whittingham and Gunnarsson. Both Whitts and Gunnar will have a big part to play in 2015-16, but manager Slade has little to learn about either of them.

Ralls simply has to play a central role. He is wasted out wide. While I’m talking about the match at Forest on Saturday it would also be fantastic to see Ben Turner, Anthony Pilkington and Nicky Maynard start if they are fit and ready.

They were all involved in some way against Blackpool and that would suggest they are raring to go.

Hallelujah, I've been saying this for ages.
It's made no sense at all, the fact he has been out of the team when we have been so unconvincing in midfield. We've been safe for quite a while and whether he plays at Forest or not, I don't think he's been given enough of a crack.
He could go and succeed elsewhere, just epitomises everything about our manager for me, :sladeout:

First may i say i recoiled in horror when you typed that Whittingham and Gunnarsson. would have a big part to play next season, haven't you seen enough this season to tell you that it just doesn't work as for O'Keefe he seems to want to pass the ball sidewards to much for me,no in my view we need a complete revamp in midfield next season

Madness that he and Adeyemi haven't had a chance in these pointless games.

Adeyemi is clearly not in Slade's plans, wouldn't be surprised to see him go to another Championship side and excel?

I thought he looked decent when used. Plenty to improve on but young and needs game time.

Agreed, big & strong with a bit of a goal threat and only likely to improve??
Complete mystery!

Hasn't he had a few injuries? Like the look of him from the videos we saw of him but then I liked the look of Eddie Johnson too

Adeyemi was birminghams player of season.. Needs to be playing regularly,, Difficult for him in and out of side. Can't fault his running and off the ball work..... Problem with slade is he sticks with the same two players that have not worked all season...

Funny about ralls, she he first started at left back he was getting slated left right andncentre , I've been saying for ages he should be in midfield.

He has always been a midfielder. Never a lb but he can full in. Personally I don't like him wide either but he does a job.

Stuart O'Keefe is simply not good enough, he's nowhere near as good as Whittingham or Gunnarson and doesn't have the potential of Adeyemi or Ralls. No idea why Slade signed him, he's hardly picked him either, even though he was his signing. Complete waste of a wage

It's odd to buy him and not give him a chance in such pointless games. I do feel someone will sign Adeyemi in the summer and get a bargain though.

I agree about Adeyemi, had glowing reports from Birmingham and I thought he was a very decent signing at the time but just doesn't seem to have been given a chance.
