Simon Moore?

Sun Apr 26, 2015 4:38 pm

Why do so many people rate him so highly?
I see alot of people saying get rid of Marshall and replace him with Moore but then say they want a promotion push. Moore is not top Championship material, he's not comanding enough and is scared to catch the ball. If he was our number one then we would concead alot of silly goals next season. I know he's young and can learn but he's not a goal keeper for a promotion push. I would hope we could loan Moore out to a team lower in the league or in the below divisions to get first team experience and bring Lewis back for the first team if Marshall is sold

People once said that about Marshall.....

Disagree to be honest mate. Great penalty save against Derby and made some fantastic reaction saves at Norwich. They are two sides that could go up. I see what you mean with the commanding thing but Marshall was once like that, keepers grow out of it with experience. The young lad has a bright future.

He's decent enough but Marshall is top quality.
Marshals worth an extra 10 points a season over Moore or any other keeper we've had in the last 30 years IMHO

Yes but at the time we had no one better than him even with him being young, if you had the choice of the two GKs we had at the time who would you pick Marshall or Enckleman? Easy choice

Tbh I thought the penalty save could have been better, he didn't get strong enough hands on it and one of the Cuty players not been quicker to the ball then they would have went on to score. Bright future indeed but not Number 1 material right now in my opinion

I'm not sure about Moore either and if we do sell Marshall then I would keep Joe Lewis as number one who I rate. I think he is out of contract this summer though although I may be wrong.

Moore will be one of the best keepers in the country in 5 years provided he gets game time

Bringing lewis back to replace marshall is crazy moore is twice the keeper lewis is and has a lot of time on his hands

Marshalls command of his area is still piss poor compared to the great keepers that have been around over the years

Moores is no worse than marshall and he has a lot of time to sort that out

this isn't me knocking marshall either as he's top class but if you don't rate moore then you are making a bad judgement lad has a bright future between the sticks

i dont understand why you would want moore out on loan and lewis as number 1........having watched both keepers i would pick moore over lewis and i believe moore would be a good enough first choice if marshall does move on... :ayatollah:

EVERYONE said that about joe hart, man-city bought him from shrewsbury and he was put into the first team, and people said he wasnt good enough. i think he needs first team exposure regulary

He looked solid enough while Marshall was out of action for us. Great little keeper and while I wouldn't just boot marshall out of the door if we get the right price for him I wouldn't at all mind having Moore as our No1

Yeah, he makes a mistake now and then, but even Marshall has made mistakes (increasingly so in our last few games)

It all depends what we are really trying to do.

If we are going for promotion like Dalmans pretends then Marshall will be key.

If we are continuing cutting back then selling Marshall for a fee and getting off the wage bill is the obvious and easy choice.
