A MEMORABLE JOURNEY
It was a boiling hot summe rs morning when we , my family and i set off to watch my beloved bluebirds hopefully crush Liverpool and win the Carling Cup,
We had set off quite early that morning because we were playing in britains nicest stadium,Wembley,i,d been there before watching Cardiff ,three times to be exact and only ever seen them win there once,
was this our time?
My van r packed a wonderfull lunch which was well needed for the hugh journey,it was only three and a half hours but for a boy of 12 it felt like i was travelling half way around the world.luckily i fell asleep by the time i got to the severn bridge.
After a quick nap i woke in a completerly new enviroment ,where was i ? my mum informed me we where in the services half way to wembley,in the services i was surrounded by crowds of fellow bluebird fanatics, all together we chanted like a mass choir.
as we left the services i felt i was part of this cardiff herd as we headed down the M4 to Wembley.
As we got closer to the great ground i felt like a youngster on christmas day,and there filling the windscreen was the golden arch of Wembley.
The streets were full of blue and red and every 10 meters stood a enthusiastic man trying to sell flags , horns etc.
There was even a BBC Wales radio
van there live from Wembley.
This was like nothing i,d ever seen before at a football match,it was like a festival or even a carnival with all the true blues singing and dancing,
it really was a special feeling.
As the game kicked off it was the end of one journey, but the begining of a 90 minute or more journey for Cardiff,
And a lifetime of supporting our beloved Cardiff City
