Millwall Thrown a life line, Rotherham deducted

A Football Disciplinary Commission has ruled Rotherham United Football Club are to be deducted three points, with immediate effect, for fielding an ineligible player (Farrend Rawson) in the club's Sky Bet Championship fixture with Brighton & Hove Albion FC on April 6.

I wonder if this would have happened the other way round i.e if it was a London club like Millwall who had fielded an illegible player. I have my doubts.

I don't recall QPR being deducted points when they won promotion a few years ago after fielding an illegible player,

But hey, one rule for some and all that.

Pathetic, always happens to clubs like them. Remember when Sunderland when they didn't any deductions last season?

It's tough on Rotherham, but it was a relegation game which they won 1-0. The punishment is right, it's just the inconsistencies regarding Sunderland, QPR, not to mention West Ham with Tevez, that make it seem unfair. Besides, Millwall are hardly the football authorities' favourite club. The game needs consistency on this matter. From now on, every club fielding an ineligible player should be deducted three points per game played, (or if it's a cup competition, thrown out), and not just fined.

Did the opposition get awarded 3 points? Would seem fairer as they were denied the opportunity to win by an illegally fielded side. Just saying.
