" EOIN DOYLE "

Is Eoin Doyle good enough for Championship Level?

To be honest I was expecting more from him but maybe he will come good next season

Opinions? :bluescarf:

Mason, Doyle gives 100% every time, great character, honest player, but for me not a Championship striker.

Over 10 clubs looked at him for months at Chesterfield,Cardiff City were the only club to actually bid for him.
If were relegated,I believe he would be good for us.

hard to judge any striker here really when they are not getting proper service from the midfield :sladeout:

Not judging on his lack of goals because no striker has scored with us. Seems hard workinging but for me, he's touch seems to let him down

an out and out goal poacher who plays in a team that doesn't create any chances...never going to work

Same as Le Fondre scores goal wherever he plays apart from yup you guessed it :bluebird:

If we give him to another Championship team, we'll regret it, same as Le Fondre.

Definitely great for this level as is the majority of our squad.

Poor confidence and very poor system is our problem.

Not had the service, got Le Fondre syndrome

Of course lack of quality service comes into it but not good enough for me.
The 'hard worker' comments are true but should be a given for me.

We love a trier bollox does my head in...Its not parks football. You don't pay top dollar and accept seeing a professional pianist miss notes.....

Dale, Stant,Earnie,Chopra, campbell scored goals from half chances. I haven't seen any goals from half chances except and it pains me to say it Macheda and the god that is Peter Whittingham scoring from unexpected chances.
Not seen a poachers goal all season, because they are not poachers.

None of our strikers are differance makers....maybe except the lazy Italian

lets be honest Kenny miller is better than all our strikers and so was Helguson as the target man.

have to agree with this.....he needs to find the net,but our midfield is not performing.

Earnie Chopra and Campbell all missed way more than they scored, but all 3 had more chances as they had better service.

Blame our midfield.
You could have Ronaldo Bale and Messi upfront and we would still struggle to score.

Re: " EOIN DOYLE "

Earnie,Chopra and Campbell all had something in common-pace. That meant they were able to find space for others to pick them out and to make chances fo themselves. Doyle is slow and so unfortunately are Mason, Revell and Macheda.it's not all the mid fields fault.

Not a surprise that he's not up to scratch. Was ok in the SPL which IMO is not the same standard as the championship.

Chesterfield fans said we have to be patient with him and he will start delivering. For me I like what i see.

I also like what I see and hope he does well for us but I am concerned about his first poor touch. Perhaps he can have a good pre season and fire on all cylinders for the new season as we need desperately need someone to score goals.

You have to ask yourself, 'is Slade the right manager to bring him on'? .

Put Diego Costa in our team and he'd struggle!

Hes shite.
3 clear cut chances against leeds and he fucked them all up.the one on one was embarrassing.
not good enough.
as they say in taibach "he couldnt finish a shit "

Re: " EOIN DOYLE "

He can score goals because he is still the top scorer in League 1. Agree with the previous post, you could put Costa, Messi, any of the top players in our team and they would struggle.

Unfortunately we play negative, unattractive hoofball with no creativity. It seems our most dangerous player is Sean Morrison and that's from a set piece. We are totally dependant upon a corner, direct free kick or penalty. How many goals have we seen from open play?

In fairness to Doyle he has not been given a decent run in the team. He played very well in one game and was then dropped to the bench in the next. Slade has only picked him the last few games because he has no alternative!

Always gives a 100% and he has been unlucky not to get at least 3 other goals by excellent saves. Worth giving another season alongside a decent target man.

Re: " EOIN DOYLE "

We have a real time situation going on at this moment, where comparisons may be made, Le Fondre looked worse than average whilst playing for us, yet makes a move to another average side and bangs in 5 in 6 games, is that down to coaching at the club, tactics or just down to player confidence, what ever it is, forwards are struggling to find goals at this club

Re: " EOIN DOYLE "

Judging any of our forwards, or any of our players, post MM, is difficult. Under OGS they looked confused and bemused and under Slade they look depressed, playing a style of football they don't like and is probably way below their skill level.

I can't see Eoin Doyle improving with Slade as our manager :sladeout:

My mate is a Chesterfield fan and said exactly that. There are valid points on here and it's a combination of the lot of them. Midfield hasn't been creative enough but the strikers lack the zip and cutting edge of previous Cardiff strikers.

Alf butchering chances as he had, open bloody goal and one on ones was nothing to do with Slade.

Its a shit judgemental crowd who jump on every mistake more than Slade.

Playing 442 you sacrifice the midfield battle, so when the two front get chances they need to go in. The winger haven't contributed at all in the way of goals or assists.

442 is dead, but playing players not capable in a 442 is just plain daft.

If Doyle can improve his first touch, or macheda decide to move during the game then we could play a modern system but Slade wants 442, so our top 6 need replacing
