Was your heart really with Cardiff City FC ?

Tue Apr 21, 2015 6:13 pm

I have spent the last hour or so reading the comments of Cardiff City "supporters". I am dumbfounded to be honest. Over recent years our football club has provided us with a most incredible journey with trips to Wembley , Cup Finals , Promotion Play Offs , Taste of the Premiership........... FFS things are not brilliant right now, I admit that , but I am not behaving like a spoilt child who has had his favourite toy confiscated !! A football club is not just the playing staff, coaching staff, and management team. A football club is all of those AND the supporters which everyone can be a member.
People who post comments on here ,moaning and groaning and saying , I cannot take anymore and its all too much to take now, are saying this after only one poor season out of the past 8 . Don,t be so selfish! Together, we turned our club back to Blue ,with passion and drive to see our club perform in its traditional colour. Together we can support the Club and see the good days return. Tan and Slade will not be here forever but We Will! I do not agree with everything that Annis Abraham says or does, but I cannot deny the man has real passion and such a desire to see the Bluebirds rise again. It is going to require a lot of people with that sort of passion to move the club forward. It was the few that got us back to blue and now everyone is happy but many sat back and let others do the work. Do not leave it to the few who have Cardiff City in their hearts to keep the club alive. I have renewed and I am bloody proud of the fact and look forward to next season whatever it may bring. To all of the moaners and groaners who are "disillusioned" and are not renewing ,I doubt the Club is really in your heart or ever was ,otherwise you would renew. :old: :bluescarf:

I see what your saying but I haven't enjoyed it since the rebrand and nor have many, I still go but too much has changed its shit down there now. I got a free ticket for sat and if I'd have paid I would have genuinely felt like I'd wasted £30

We are Cardiff City supporters. We always moan. It's ingrained into us!

On a serious note, I said in another thread that those not renewing are frustrating me. I'd love to get a season ticket again but I simply can't afford it both in terms of money and time. Yes, there are things wrong with the club and a large percentage of those moaning have very valid points. I think since the Premier League relegation some have seen the easy cop out and taken it. Things have certainly been a lot worse than they are now... you don't even have to look that far back to see that.

It'll pass though. It always does. Then some new drama will take over the club.

Well said Barney :notworthy: I completely agree, I really don't care that much that so called supporters are not renewing, it's not going to hurt us financially like it did in the past, so shouldn't fundamentally change the transfer policy for next season. Lets face it if our owner wants promotion, he just has throw another £10 million at it, with the right manager in charge, just like he did with Malky  All these supporters, now bleating on about, crap football, painful to watch, no atmosphere, etc, etc will start gladly parting with £35 notes per game. Suddenly the passion would be back, like magic :laughing6:

I know a lot of people for whatever reason are saying their not renewing but a lot are saying they will still go down just don't feel the necessity to buy a season ticket. The o.p makes a lot of sense but it's all down to personal opinion I know of many who just down to the rebrand have said enough is enough and their heart was in it for between 20 to 30 years. Just sad how it's worked out

the debate of how loyal one person can be to a football club, admirable and all, but the reality is that to make a football club work you need happy fans.

Agree entirely in all walks of life someone will love something more or be better at something than someone else. I have all the respect for the fans who go week in week out home and away but that's not possible for everyone. Just because you don't have a season ticket or didn't do that Rochdale game on that famous Tuesday night doesn't make the numerous play off failures, re brand and the total disregard shown for our club any easier to take.
