' CITY PLAYER GOES UNDER SURGEON'S KNIFE '

Sun Apr 19, 2015 9:35 pm

Cardiff City goalkeeper Joe Lewis has now undergone surgery following the ankle injury he picked up in a game against Reading earlier in the month.

The stopper, on loan at Blackpool, has now been officially ruled out for the remainder of the season following the surgery that took place on Friday and Blackpool manager Lee Clark explained that he had picked up ligament damage and surgery was the only option.

'There was damage to his ligaments, decent to one and minor to another. The surgeon wanted to have a look at it and he's repaired it. We knew he was out for the season, but it's going to be a bit further into his summer holidays when he's back fit again. From the initial prognosis it'll probably put him back two or three weeks. Personally it's a bit of a blow, but he'll have plenty of time to recover.'

Since signing on loan at Blackpool, amid plenty of speculation about wages, contract buy options and the like that has surrounded the keeper this season, he has made 36 appearances for the Tangerines across all competitions, he now heads back to Cardiff for further treatment and rehabilitation.

Unlucky. Decent keeper, and seems a good bloke. Wish him all the best for a quick recovery.

I believe hes better than Simon Moore and could be a big player for us if the expected happens and Marshall leaves to Everton.
Isnt he out of contract tho ?
