Who would replace Slade

Sun Apr 19, 2015 10:07 am

Most City fans have had enough of the crap being dished up down the ccs and would be happy to see the back of Slade.
Who do you think would realistically replace him, Slade is on a fraction of most championship managers and some in league 1. Slade is on around £100,000 a year apparently Dave Jones was on £850,000 when he left. The club what to cut cost and I doubt the club will want to pay a new manager much more than what Slade is on. Added to this Tan's reputation it is bound to put some managers off particularly young managers gaining a good reputation for themselves.

While I want him out I do wonder who would replace him any suggestions.

Mark Warburton , he's leaving Brentford at end of season , would be relatively cheap done wonders at Brentford

karl robinson for me. give him full control. if we pay Kenwynne £37,000 a week then im sure we could afford Robinson if we get rid of him to Bournemouth or some other mug.
or even sell Manga and use the cash on Robinson. iv allways thought a tidy manager is worth more than 1 star player.
let him rebuild club from top to bottom

Karl Robinson for me too.

For experienced older guy, Neil Warnock

I think we undersell ourselves for the younger managers....We are still a tier 2 club, bigger than some premier league outfits and with regional media based here, we get a disproportionate amount of media attention.

Malky was in the running for an elite club like Everton off the back of Cardiff City

Jimmy floyd has done brilliantly at burton, and is a big enough name to attract quality players. Other than that, Warburton for me.

Karl Robinson, he deserves a chance, works wonders on small budgets.
Someone who knows the importance of young players! :ayatollah:

This is where we need the bullshit smiley.

By in the running you mean agent touted him, he refused to deny it or pledge his loyalty to us. He was never in the running.

Our problem is if a prospective manager did any research and saw how much shite he would get from our fickle fans he wouldn't touch us with a barge pole.

No he isn't.

It's not worth debating. Whoever comes in will have no control. This is why Slade came in.

He was cheap, in awe of the opportunity and willing to say yes to everything Tan says.

With this sort of job profile no manager worth his salt will come in.

We are now awaiting the full cost cutting, Tan to recoup some cash and hopefully get the club to a value that someone will be interested in buying.

Let's hope this is before we drop another league.

Anyway Warburton won't be cheap after what he did and many others are the same as Slade with no Championship history.

I don't think karl Robinson would come here he may well be in the championship with mk dons a stable well run club next season. I can see there being a load of competition for mark Warburton and if were not going to be paying much dont think he ll fancy it. Without paying big wages we ll struggle to get a manager whos stock is high. More chance of getting a decent manager looking to rebuild their career, maybe nigel atkins or brian mcdermont both experienced at this level and like to play good football

The club that shitall over it's fans and moved from Wimbledon.

A hundred times worse than anything Tan has done. I wonder if we will forget so quickly......

A trip to League One may do us the World of good, not a big a club as we think we are and no up and coming young manager is going to want to touch us, they will have sights on a flush championship side or a Premier League job.

Maybe a dip into a foreign young manager who has a football brain, your Karanka types etc.

I don't really know who would want the job to be honest, I wouldn't let Bellamy do it or your Redknapps, McCarthys et al.

For the stuff that Slade is dishing up for 100k a year he probably isnt't bothered either as long as he gets paid.

Out of the hat name........Leanne Wood maybe, make us look even shitter than we are.

Good point about the disproportionate media attention. Even allowing for the Welsh media's obsession with the egg, that still leaves plenty of space for us. Not much happens in Wales. Pity we haven't got any good football writers.

Neil Ardley, not pulling up trees at AFC Wimbledon, but not expected to either.Knows the club, the fans and gives youth a go.

Don't think he will go - went back to Bournemouth - unless it is a big club.

Jimmy Floyd, give that man a job with us :ayatollah: :ayatollah: total respect for going to the basement league, he is serious about management/coaching unlike the joke that was Ole, and the underwhelming Russell.
