O'Sullivan staying at Port Vale

Port Vale have extended Tommy O'Sullivan's loan from Cardiff until the end of the season.

Thurs 16/04/15

Port Vale have extended Tommy O'Sullivan's loan from Cardiff until the end of the season.

O'Sullivan's previous deal expired after the 1-1 draw with Scunthorpe at Glanford Park on Tuesday night but the 20-year-old midfielder will now remain part of Rob Page's squad until May 3.

The Vale manager said: "It's great to have sorted out a deal that will keep Tommy here until the end of the season.

"He's a terrific lad and a really promising player and I'm sure he will help us get to where we want to be between now and when the campaign finishes in a few weeks time."

O'Sullivan, a Wales Under-21 international, has made three appearances for the Valiants this season, including a start in the away loss to Rochdale on Easter Monday.

Absolutely right. At least we would get some idea as to whether or not we need to persevere with him.

Not necessarily Slade's call. But any cash we might be saving by allowing the loan extension is surely chicken feed in the grand scheme of things

Now is the time to blood the youngsters. We have no strikers at moment. Rhys Healy should be given a go.

In midfield O'Sullivan would be far better off playing for our first team rather than struggling Port Vale where he is surrounded by mediocre 3rd rate players.

There are several other promising youngsters like Harris, Barnum-Bob and James. Give them a chance and give the fans the opportunity to identify with home grown players. Nothing like seeing academy kids coming through.

How do we know if he is not 3rd rate and mediocre ?

Huge gulf between Port vale and cardiff, let him succeed there.

What makes it the truth? It's an opinion.
