As Cardiff City continue their period of transition, the Supporters Trust demand to know if more devastating departures are planned
Cardiff City Supporters Trust have demanded to know whether more star players will leave this summer.
In the wake of the shock loan departures of Kenwyne Jones and Matt Connolly this season, fans' representatives are want to know whether any more stars are set to leave.
Top scorer Jones and experienced defender Connolly were loaned out for “business reasons” as the board aim to reduce debts and make the club sustainable after years of heavy investment by billionaire owner Vincent Tan.
But, in a statement released today, the Supporters Trust, say: “As fans we deserve a detailed explanation on the way forward for our club – a vision on where Cardiff City will be in a year, three years and five years.
“The club needs to be open and state clearly what its ideas are for rebuilding.
“Are there plans to dispose of more of our more high profile players in the run-up to the new season?”
Manager Russell Slade has admitted that he expects players to leave in the summer but has been told he will get the backing of the owner to bring more in and he expects to be challenging at the top end of the table this time next year.
But as the Championship season comes towards its conclusion, the trust are asking for the following to be addressed:
A date for the club's debt to be turned into equity
Details on where the Premier League parachute payments have been spent
Russell Slade to have more dialogue with the fans
Regular fans forums to be set up
This season's mixed results and falling attendances this season have also led the trust to call for unity at the club.
Their statement continues: “We fully appreciate the need for the club to operate on a more sustainable footing in the future following heavy investment by Vincent Tan in recent years.
“Cardiff City has to become a club where everyone is pulling together – and fans need to have hope that things will get better sooner rather than later.
“The club has started a process of re-engagement with fans after the rebranding and we acknowledge the return to blue and the development of a new badge.
“But it is our belief that the owner and senior executives need to go much further and quicken the pace.
“Without supporters once again feeling that Cardiff City is their club, we fear, as stated, that many fans will just stay away.
“Therefore, we invite the club to keep its supporters and the Trust fully informed of its plans and to take every opportunity to make constructive use of the goodwill and the desire to help which undoubtedly exists.”

Seems the fans are "demanding" an awful lot lately...
I'm even half thinking a chance back to blue may have not been a 100% good idea... I love seeing us back in the colour but if our fans now think we can just demand and get it's not going to lead to anything good...
Mon Apr 13, 2015 11:43 am
I am a fan and i haven't demanding those things.....
If I am so unhappy I won't go. I demanded blue, bought the scarf

, sang the song...Nothing
One FA cup tie with barely any fans and hey presto....back to Blue !!
The trust are well meaning, like most left wingers, but raw commerce works best with this lot.
I'll give you your answers:-
We will plan to be back in the premiership withing the next 2 years amd stay there
Our high profile players are that good we are mid table.....We need to find tomorrows stars
A date for the club's debt to be turned into equity-
Never ,we will always owe tan until he sells us at a loss and then he may retain the odd debt note....He could go to langston for advice on that one.
Details on where the Premier League parachute payments have been spent -
Paying players and agents off- Reducing the debtRussell Slade to have more dialogue with the fans - He has dialogue with the fans...
Some shout "fcuk off Selwyn Frogget" at him...He never see's it coming thoughRegular fans forums to be set up -
Like this one or for the select few again

I'll answer.
Probably more will leave as the wages we are paying cannot be sustained by 3000 season ticket sales.
Debt to equity might not happen and nor should it. It was part of the deal for the rebrand which has been reversed.
All we need is more forums like the Trust. Making us look bloody stupid all the time. Haven't they joined with BU?

Next season we'll be supporting CCFC playing in blue, with a big bluebird on the badge. We haven't been relegated to league 1, as was possible at one time. That's good enough for me. I just like going to games.

I think that is the first time anyone has referred to my political preferences as being that of a "left winger" or were you referring to the position on the pitch Trust board members used to play in their younger days
I am also interested that you seem to claim to know what the political affiliations are of the Trust and it's board in general. I have no idea myself , or feel the need to know, in the years I have been on the Trust board

Why are people so quick to bash the Trust? If we had a strong trust with a fan on the board then crap like the rebrand would be less likely to happen.

Shit lazy striker restricts Bournemouth, effects their style.
may grab a goal but they don't look the same up front when he is playing and he's lazy selfish game may cost them two goals even if he scores

I can't demand to know the intentions of co-op at boardroom level because I bought x3 Peroni's 2x Magners and popcorn last Sunday (factual).
Look, it is very frustrating not knowing the ins-and-outs of the way the club does business.
I believe the club will suffer for being so discreet long term if the club continues to not be successful on the pitch. We know Tan believes he can sell the club at a profit

We know the club want to sell loads of merchandise next season due to brand-reversal
Let's hope Tan can get his money back and move on to his next business venture in football ownership.

we havent got a board though we have a dictatorship and the trust do not have a significant shareholding in the club as some other trusts do

Yep. a dictatorship...
I remember Castro and Chairman Mao saying quite a few times "Ok, you are unhappy, I will reverse my decision and we'll do exactly what you are asking for"

interesting, you think a projected windfall in merchandise revenue had no bearing upon brand-reversal

That's a good point but I'd rather have a Trust lobbying the club than just accepting that we're powerless.
