Prolific Goalscorer..

Sat Apr 11, 2015 10:28 pm

Next season surely we need one dont you think? Someone who can work hard for the team and also have the quality to score goals for us and put away chances when they arrive.

Macheda
Doyle
Revell
Mason
Jones/le fondre if their here

I dont have confidence with these next season along with noone gunnarson and whitts.

A lot of work to be done in the transfer window imo dont you think but what the hell will this crazy b*stard slade have planned dosent give me much confidence either, hes signed 2 strikers in revell and doyle so far and neither look good enough, who else is out there?

With the exception of revel and I'm still unsure about Doyle I think any of these strikers could be prolific in a good championship team that creates chances from open play. It's not our players that are to blame it's the system we play.

Le fondre will never have the confidence to score goals for us now imo. Jones and macheda will get goals but doubtful they will be prolific enough and both lack workrate and graft for a team chasing promotion. I just think something is still missing up front

He needs the people behind him doing there jobs along with service to be prolific otherwise it would matter who's up front

Yeh your right that definitely helps, that would be the midfield which just aint good enough imo, the only player that seems to be able to get forward and create and give service to our strikers is kennedy and slade likes to keep him on the bench

In fairness, it can't be easy for Slade to get his hands on a prolific (or shall we say good) striker on a tiny budget.

Best striker signed at a good price in recent times is Frazier Campbell, I think Frazier's standard will be unachievable for Slade and that is not his fault

If we can find a hidden gem that can do well in the championship like Sears for Ipswich then we can be a good team next year.

You could be right. Maybe we can get a young hungry quality striker on loan next season from the premiership, like bamford with boro

I believe they all can score goals, the bigger issue is the supply chain, there isn't one :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

Or we could look at it another way. We didnt have 1 under Malky and walked the league

Helguson was perfect for the system....He never got the credit he deserved.

None of our strikers are as good as he was that season.

It's more to do with the midfield if anything. Noone and Whittingham have both had shocking seasons.

I agree but only shocking by the standards they have set themselves

We have been blessed to have had strikers at this club who have scored 15 plus goals a season - over 3 seasons ago.

Of late the last 3 seasons - until this one we have not had a player getting 10 goals, then he went to B'rmth ;)

Frazier Campbell would have hit 20 this season, his departure might just have been the difference this season. I think we would be a lot higher with Campbell in the squad.

Would love him back.
