without getting into a slanging match on here, it you booked national hotel chains they provide 24 hour free cancellation policies, if it was a bucket hotel chain, did you take out the option of a cancellation insurance for just a few quid as I constantly due on many company business trips per year, got caught out once, lesson learned, never again.

The club's stance has been made perfectly clear. Why turn on the very fans who just went up to use travel arrangements like hotels already paid for?
It's very clever to point out about insurance and cancellation deals after the fact, but maybe some are really trying to make ends meet and save wherever they can. Also, not everyone has a lifestyle where booking hotels is a frequent occurrence.
