Missed a trick there, the cup was there for the taking. Seems like ages ago not 7 years. :bluescarf:

We just didn't have the quality to win that game in my opinion.

Great day out. Was gutted we lost at the time, but when I look back now, I feel privileged to have wittnesed our club play at Wembley in an fa cup final, in my lifetime. No one expected it, and that's what makes it so special for me. Do we still hold the record attendance at the new Wembley?

Didn't help that the grumpy Scouser kept our best chance of winning the game on the bench for too long before bringing him on.

With Portsmouth winning by playing people they couldn't afford!

Thompson and Ramsay starting and I think we'd have come closer to winning it. All good in hindsight though. Just privileged to have been there with a squad that really shouldn't have appeared in an FA Cup Final. The draw in the tournament favoured us and it was a great experience.

Great day out, shame about the result. I'd rather we had a real go at Pompey and lost 3-0 instead of 1-0.

I do watch it on dvd when I'm pissed every now and then and wish Enckleman was more demanding in the box
