I can't believe it. Remember him signing from Blackpool, late 70's. RIP.

Met billy a couple of times,great fella and tough as teak.R.I.P. Billy I wish we still had players with your drive and passion.

For my 11th birthday my Dad wrote to Billy and asked him for his autograph for me.
Billy stuck a photo of himself on to a birthday card and wrote a birthday message inside.
It was a big surprise when it arrived and meant a lot to an 11year old me!

What a shame. I was chuffed when we signed him as for once it showed some ambition on the part of the club- a rarity in those days. He was a very good player for us and would walk into the current shambles of a team.

Sad sad sad news day R.I.P Billy

Some guys in work were talking about him signing as I believe it was a club record at the time and as I walked through the door into the office they said " and here he is !! Billy Ronson" knowing I was a City fan and the nickname jus stuck !!!

So many people know me as "Billy" rather than my own name Goodbye and thanks Billy Ronson .

Very sad to see this. Billy was a cracking little player, all energy and bite. One of my favourites.

As others have said tough tackling, no nonsense midfielder, RIP Billy !

I'm sure I remember him scoring a cracking goal for us at Turf Moor. He was one a my all time favourite City players. RIP Billy.

Mike, Billy stood out for me as well

He was up there with Ian Gibson as one of our best ever midfielders. A real battler but with real talent.Slade would ship him out on loan if he was here today.
