"You've got no fans!" - Cardiff set to bring nobody to ER

Thursday 9th Apr 2015

Apparently there's a storm brewing in the Valleys.

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=156873 :shock:

Cardiff City (or whatever they are called these days) face a humiliating chant of "Is that all you bring away?" to an empty away section as enraged fans of the Welsh club are threatening to boycott Saturday's clash at Elland Road.

Leeds had implemented a "voucher scheme" for the fixture, whereby fans have to arrive at a M1 service station at a pre-determined time to swop the voucher for a match-ticket. Similar restrictions are imposed on Millwall fans. However Cardiff officials cited league rules which stipulate a minimum of 2000 tickets have to be issued. Leeds responded by offering just a quarter of that which fans have blasted as "derisory".

Leeds have refused to comment on the situation and I'm sorry, I'm with the Welshies on this one. Surely there can't be that many trouble-causers bothered with travelling all that way to watch the dross served up under Russell Slade? The last time it really kicked off was over 13 years ago at Ninian Park after a FA Cup 3rd round tie when League One Cardiff knocked then Premier League leaders Leeds out. All that really happened were some silly children ran on the pitch and the Police didn't keep order!

Surely we are shooting ourselves in the foot by denying entry to thousands of passionate, desperate Welshmen, willing to pay up to £36 a ticket to hopefully see their side lose to Leeds for the first time in 31 years?

This clearly is an indicator at how chaotic things currently are behind the scenes at Leeds at the moment?

Vince Alms statement

Leeds united; Unfortunately we still haven't had a straight answer from any of the authorities why and who has made the call to reduce our ticket allocation down to 500 in return for the previously promised no travel restrictions.

I have written to the following authorities and to date have only received acknowledgements they have received my correspondence;

Leeds Council; I have written to them under the Freedom of Information Act requesting all correspondence and meetings that have taken place with the Safety Advisory group; I have also written individual letters of complaint to the Chief executive of Leeds council, and The leader of the Leeds council who is also a member of the Leeds Trust.

West Yorkshire Police; Again under the freedom of information act i have requested the rationale behind the decision to impose restrictions and any correspondence and meetings that have taken place regards the restrictions. I have also registered a complaint with the IPCC and written to a letter of complaint to the West Yorkshire police commissioner;
I have written a letter of complaint to Leeds united and requested the rationale behind the decisions to restrict our allocation of tickets.

I have also written a letter of complaint to the football league and asked them for answers;
It is unacceptable at this late stage we have no reason why our ticket allocation has been cut and why we were only offered a 1000 tickets for a voucher exchange. these talks started only a few weeks ago and it is a disgrace the football league have allowed LUFC and the authorities to get away with it.
We are in talks with a legal firm via the FSF on where we stand from making a legal challenge but it is unlikely we can do anything this side of the fixture but will look to continue this even after Saturday.

My personal view it is time we made a stand against Leeds and the authorities and boycott the game. The club its supporters the police, the council have worked really hard during the past 10 years at cardiff achieving family club of the year and having the biggest down turn in arrest and banning orders bar none. It is high time that all involved in arranging the events at Leeds United FC and the football league are brought to task to answer there behaviour! enough is enough we are not jumping through hoops anymore to watch our team! We want Parity; equality; and freedom of movement as per our human rights and other football supporters up and down the country.
It is unacceptable that a club and its authorities are allowed to hide behind each other unchallenged and unaccountable for these discriminatory measures against one football club. we have proof evidence and precedence have been set that Cardiff city have been singled out for this treatment by these authorities in Leeds
I am sorry that a minority of fans still want to attend this fixture but we have to think of the supporters who would have missed on tickets for this game and our treatment long term. Please take your anger and frustations out by writing letters of complaint to the Football league enquiries@football-league.co.uk Leed united FC
West Yorkshire police http://www.westyorkshire.police.uk/foi

I believe the club will be making a statement in the morning regards the offer of 500 tickets there was some dialogue late this afternoon
Together we stand united we fall :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

Seems genuine enough. Doesn't just sympathise. Want away fans there to see first loss in years!! Lol.

I wouldn't want it the other way tbh. Having just home fans leaves nothing to fight against. Is that all you take away is a bit empty when it's a boycott so I see no advantage to being awkward. The police are another matter. Do they still consider Bluebirds fans a danger??

Hope there's clarity today or tomorrow.
