" Russell Slade already looking to summer target "

Wednesday 8th April 2015

Cardiff City manager Russell Slade has said that he already has a number of transfer targets prepared for the summer.

The City coach has endured a mixed season in Wales, but has since been given assurances by the club's owners that he remains in their plans for next season.

"The parameters will be greater than they were in January and there is still work to be done," said Slade, according to Wales Online.

"We have our targets and the owner and chief executive are aware of those.

"We are working on bringing in players and one or two of those will cost us a little bit of money."

Cardiff currently occupy 13th position in the Championship table, with 52 points from 41 games.

i think the club needs to get some good signings, just to make it look we are going to be a force in this league, also. people might buy season tickets?

One thing I will say is that Slade's signings haven't been to bad!

Kennedy
McAleny
Doyle
Malone
Peltier
Revell
(Sorry if I've missed anyone else?)
4/6 of those aren't to bad, and if used correctly (sadly Slade isn't a tactical guru), they could be decent!

Majority of the side needs replacing, most players seem not to give a shit about playing for us! We need a team full of hard workers who will want to play for the club, with a bit of quality thrown in!

I think Doyle is not a championship player but he has potential and another of Slades signings is O'Keefe who hasn't impressed me much from the little I have seen of him. I sit on the fence about Revell and Malone but the rest are very good for us at this level. I hope we can sign McAleny on a permanent but I can't see that happening tbh :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Not the biggest fan of Malone or Revell. Malone hasn't been bad, but he has made mistakes. I like Revell's work rate but he just doesn't have any quality. I did miss ou O'Keefe and he's been a huge disappointment as he has not played

Slade is set to travel to Kuala Lumpur for a meeting with the Cardiff owner when the pair will plot next season's campaign

Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan is ready to back manager Russell Slade’s plans to strengthen his squad this summer.

The two men are set to hold talks at end of this season in Kuala Lumpur to make plans for the 2015-16 Championship campaign.

Slade has been given assurances he will be in charge next season despite continued frustration among fans over his team’s results and style of play.

And he will be allowed to bring in more new players despite the deep cost-cutting that has defined his six-month reign so far.

A host of Bluebirds stars have left the club since Slade’s appointment after Tan ordered the new boss to reduce the staggering £28m wage bill by £12m.

That meant a restriction on Slade’s January dealings that has seen him add seven first-team players to the City squad for a mere £300,000.

Those restrictions are now set to be eased, with Slade insisting money will be spent.

I tend to disagree Cal.
The only signing with any quality is Kennedy. I'm not including McAleny as he'll be gone in a few games time.
The rest are lower league players that do a bog standard job. I see very little in Doyle & Revel whilst Peltier is pretty solid but doesn't do much at all offensively. Malone, I don't rate at all.

Other than Kennedy who he loves to drop I don't think its a great list.
Would I put any of the others in a team trying to push for promotion? a big no for me. As for O'Keefe god knows why he signed him and refuses to play him

Maybe he hasnt played certain players as he didnt want to risk them in a team that could have got relegated? perhaps was waiting until next season to blood them properly! :o

Think Revell has been better than Doyle, but do think they would compliment each other well. I'm a big fan of Peltier and don't think Brayford was any better for us than him, although he seems to pick up a few injuries. Kennedy has been by far the best signing IMO, followed by McAleny (hope we can get him on loan again) Agree when it comes to Malone, although he's had a few good games so hopefully he can get a bit of consistency going.

I think we have had good value for money overall on Slades signings
