Syrian warplanes dropped at least eight barrel bombs yesterday on a Palestinian refugee camp in Damascus overrun by Islamic State, as the UN begged for access to thousands of civilians trapped in the midst of a brutal three-way battle.

Fighting was also intensifying on the ground as Syrian rebel groups joined forces with the main Palestinian armed faction in an effort to drive Isis out of Yarmouk, which is only a 15-minute drive from President Assad’s palace.

The UN is trying to evacuate 18,000 trapped civilians, including 3,500 children. It said that their situation was “beyond inhumane.”

The Western idea of Palestine is so manipulated by the US, it's unreal. Don't get me wrong, both Israel and Palestine have committed awful atrocities in the past but the favouritism towards Israel by the West is disgraceful.

I wonder what we would be doing here in Wales if we were controlled the way the Palestinian people are having our houses and land confiscated, our supplies being switched on and off such as , water,electricity, building materials also food is often regulated, the rest of the World looks despite the resolutions passed at the UN

The Western idea of Palestine is so manipulated by the US, it's unreal. Don't get me wrong, both Israel and Palestine have committed awful atrocities in the past but the favouritism towards Israel by the West is disgraceful.

I really think it works both ways. Israel is spoken about as being the modern day nazis by many.

When if one group of people agreed to peace, there would be peace.

The fundamental basis of Islam means that there is literally zero chance of Muslims allowing Israel to live peacefully. That is how some will always practise and take Islam.

Hamas see it is a religious war, which means it will never end, Israel will never live in peace. Same as Iran etc. Israel are the No1 enemy in the middle east and 2 thousand dead Palestinians is terrible but it is literally nothing in comparison with the bloodshed else where in the region carried out by Islamic dictatorships.

Israel are developing land that they won in a defensive war when they were attacked. They are building homes for Arabs too so it isn't a Jew / Arab thing apart from on the Arab side who want rid of the Jews.

The Palestinians have no oil, money, influence, Arab support, world support save a few pressure groups. In the world of " real politik" this does not amount to much.So screw them they have nothing to offer, this is the attitude of most powers. This is what makes me laugh/squirm when I hear these duplicitous charlatan politicians spewing crap.We work/deal/support regimes which are barbaric , look at Saudi Arabia!!!!! Most people seem to forget our Idiot Prime Minister wanted to send British troops into the malestrom of Syria two years ago!!
