As a Swans fan I remember thinking that Swansea and Cardiff joining the LOW along with others would be a good idea...

I was young and fairly naive, but remember where we both were in the leagues at the time? Imagine a Swans v Cardiff derby towards the end of the season with the title on the line? I imagined that over a short space of time we would be on a par with the SPL...

Thank f**k I don't get to make any decisions...

I vaguely remember the article. Wasn't the LOW the brainchild of Alun Evans?

Has the LOW been good for Welsh football at all?? I'm not sure.

How about this for an idea....

Cardiff should have the development squad playing in the LOW, if Swansea done the same it would guarantee derby games every season :D some trophies at the end of season, and a spot of EURO qualifying matches in the summer :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I don't think it has made any difference at all to be honest. It may well have been different if the teams in the English pyramid had signed up but who knows?

Maybe if yourselves and the Swans he feeder teams in there? But I'm sure that would break some rules, plus our respective academy teams probably play at a much higher standard these days.

If they were separate clubs it is possible, players could be loaned to the other and vice-versa :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

If Slade is going to be our Arsene Wenger, it would be good for the kids to perfect hoof ball in LOW to prepare themselves for 1st team action :thumbright: :thumbright:

I also recall Sam Hamman trying to get a Cardiff City "B team"??? into the LOW, in order to get into Europe.

If Swansea done the same, they would guarantee 4 derby games as LOW only have 12 clubs? That would be good spectacle if played in small stadiums to create an atmosphere...it's not a bad idea!

Im sure our club did look into the feasibility of this subject, many years ago, only to be rebuffed by the WFA, who wanted full affiliation into the LOW, & not just a reserve or second fiddle team in which to compete.

Such a move would have had us compelled to leave the English football league in full, & that was never going to happen.

The Vetch and Ninian park would have been perfect.

FAW should be begging Cardiff & Swansea to enter B teams, LOW is as exciting as a Slade press conference :bluescarf: :bluescarf:
