quite right too. too many people in this country refuse to take responsibility for their finances and constantly want tax credits even if they are on £30k + salaries.

Yeah previously he said 2. That's much better.
What we need to stop is people having child after child living off benefits to get a bigger house and more money.

right, but thats a different thing altogether. Child benefit might stop at 3 kids. But giving them rent/council tax on expensive properties to house their hoard wont

All benefits would be 3 kids maximum including larger house.

It's a fact that some out there have kids to get a house and then more kids to get more money and a bigger house. This is madness when some people can't afford to have kids.

So what is the point of the policy? To discourage these specific parents from having more children? A great idea if it succeeds, but if it doesn't we are just left with more disadvantaged children. I feel that we as a country have a shared responsibility to give all children born here a basic standard of living. It obviously sucks that some parents utilise their children to afford them an easy work-free life but is that a good enough reason to plunge those innocent children into poverty, whilst probably perpetuating this specific cycle.

you can have as many children as you want. nothing changes on that basis.
however, you also have to take responsibility as a parent and that means financial responsibility too. working families stick to the number of children they can reasonably afford so why should those reliant on the state for their existence get a better deal than them?
times are tough and unlimited child benefit is certainly one benefit that should be scrapped. even 3 children is quite generous. those that want more children can do so, but they must foot the bill, not the taxpayer. you can't get fairer than that.

What's your answer then? Surely it should be on people to take ownership of their lives and not have children they can't afford?
