' IS IT GOOD NEWS OR BAD ? '

I don't know if this is good or bad news ?

There has been widespread speculation that Cardiff City paid £5m for Bruno Manga and the same amount for Sean Morrison but I have been told that we actually paid £3.5m for Manga and £2.5m for Morrison.

When the figures of £5m were bandied Ole was apparently annoyed with local reporters over the fees that they were reporting.

Good news is that we paid a lot less than we have believed up to now but is it bad news, especially in the case of Manga, that a lower offer may see him the leave the club in the summer ?

Thought Bruno was diabolical on saturday. If he goes so be it, I suspect that the youngster from Arsenal has been brought in as his replacement assuming we see enough during his loan spell. Turner is an excellent championship centre half and we have some adequate options to play alongside him. Midfield with pace and strength needs to be our priority this summer.

We should make a handsome profit on Bruno.

Ole was creaming himself over the signing of Bruno, trying to ensure he would be remembered fondly for 1 good piece of business out at least 15! Totally ripped the squad apart

A bit of fun without looking, Ole signings:

Bruno
Morisson
Pilks
Le Fondre
Kiko
Dikochoi
Daelli
Eikrem
Bergstaller
can't remember the other Norwegian he had that much impact on my memory bank :laughing6:
Jones
Fabio

Dear oh dear, some of these signings  Ole's a nutter who needed to be stopped

Bruno and Morrison have been inconsistent all season. Mostly ok, but we have shipped a lot of goals in some games. I know that the full backs have not exactly helped, but would either be really missed? Personally, I would prefer a fit-again Turner to either. We all know his shortcomings, but as has already been said, he is an excellent centre half at Championship level. Be better still if we got Hudson back!

It doesn't matter what we paid for them, they are worth what somebody will pay for them now. Morrison is never worth £2.5m either, I think we'd but lucky to get £1m.

Hudson loves the club, but to be accused by the club of scoring an intentional own goal puts an end to that ever happening?

TBH I always thought they were less, the media reports on Morrison changed massively between 500k down to 5m

Maybe even a profit on Manga

It's good news on Manga and Morrison, but it also makes it easier to sell them.
I still believe we should not sell Manga,he is our backbone.

Agree with you Annis. If you want to have ambition you need to keep your best players. Marshall, Manga, and Gunnarsson are three players I would really want us to keep. I appreciate none of them have fulfilled their potential entirely but I think with better players around them and a more settled squad you have a promotion-chasing spine right there.

Unfortunately, I don't think we will keep them and would not be surprised to see all three leave. Is Tan plotting the fall of the club by dismantling the entire squad or is this genuinely a financial restructuring to secure the future of the club? I'm not sure. I hope it's the latter. However, surely the best chance of securing the future of the club is keeping us as a competitive Championship club at the very least and holding on to those three players is key to that. Much more valuable than any transfer fees they might attract.

Your right about keeping us competitive Championship club, even Tan knows this,,as slipping down a league is hardly going to add value to his investment, & it most certainly wouldn't leave our Club in a better position than when he first arrived.

He's said he would leave the Club in a better condition??? :?

The problem on this meassage board especially is its a race to be the most pessimistic....

We have a squad of players who are mid table championship, the stats over a season don't lie, but on high wages. Its not worked.

We have a manager who has taken over this failing squad and over achieved. This is the highest position his has achieved in his career.

We have fans who pay average season ticket prices (in relation to other championship clubs), but had a taste of the good life.

We need a mass clear out, every one of them if they reach their price tag can go....The ambition of the club will be the players we recruit. Hopefully we have a team of 22~25 year olds all out to prove the doubters wrong.

I actually disagree with you gents, I personally think that he's been quite average in the second league in England. Showed glimpses of being a decent enough player, but I don't think anyone would look at one of the most inconsistent defences in the league and say this man has been a leader.

I was at Molineux, and no way was that intentional. Hudson came over to us afterwards and held his hands up. Apologised, not that he had to. These things happen. We had been under huge pressure from Wolves all game. Kenwynne did have one good chance saved, late on, but that was all.

I've only heard these rumours about it being deliberate on here. Who, exactly, is supposed to have said it was deliberate? Can someone name names?

I'm not deluded, I just don't think that Bruno is as good as some on here think. On the whole, he's been good, but not brilliant.

Agree with you, Carl. Bruno is OK, quite good at times, but average a lot of the time too.

I don't think its that bad a list to be honest, not good but not terrible, lots of average players. The problem was we needed a manager to get the most out of Daehli, Guerra, Le Fondre

Bruno - Excellent signing
Morisson - Average
Pilks - Average
Le Fondre - Average
Kiko - Average
Dikochoi - We don't know
Daelli - Excellent signing
Eikrem - Poor
Bergstaller - Poor
can't remember the other Norwegian he had that much impact on my memory bank :laughing6: - Poor
Jones - Average/Good but expensive
Fabio - Good

when you are looking to raise money, other clubs want your good players. they aren't interested in your dross.

i would be very surprised if he is still here next season. he is a saleable player and the club will certainly be tempted if an offer of £4m or so comes in.

Mutch, Caulker and Medel we did decent business on. Tan would not be held to ransom over them which was a good thing.

Although obviously many of Malky's signings we didn't do such good business on. Cornelius and Miller to name two.

as for the op. obviously its good news if we spend less than the widely reported 9m on the pair of them. Whatever we paid for Morrison was too bloody much though

He cost very little, a good player at a young age, one of very few players to make positive impact on our season in the premiership. I assume sold for a profit but if not our money back. All we needed was a manager who knew how to use him.

Give him a chance, he has only played 2 games and been out injured. I doubt we will see the best of him for a few years yet but I still think he will end up making a very good career for himself.

Correct Steve, they and Fabio are our strong backbone, no ambition,no future.
Keep selling and bringing in Lower division players and it will def be relegation.
