Based on their performances both Bristol City and Swindon Town would beat us at the moment. Thought Swindon were unlucky to go down 3-0. They could have been up by 4/5 at half time!

I agree. They have a few quality, young players at Bristol City and Swindon have their fare few too. I really do not see what the big fuss about us not being able to sign big named players who are on big contracts anymore. There are a lot of quality young players in League 1, who are all desperate to get an opportunity to sign for a bigger club like us and prove their doubters wrong. Norwich a few seasons ago, Southampton a few years back and now Bournemouth, all three of them got promoted to the Championship with so called only League 1 standard players. However, if Bournemouth get promoted this season - which it looks certain for them to do - then it would mean that Bournemouth would be the 3rd club in the last few years, along with Norwich and Southampton, to have had 2 consecutive promotions in a row. Also, if Wolves get into the play-offs and then they go up as Play-off winners then that would be a 4th team that has had 2back to back promotions. Also, the majority of players who we're there at the 3 clubs during that time, who also went on to play Premiership football, were all signed by the club when the team was in League 1. Which proves that you do not need millions and millions of pounds and big name players to get a team promoted. There are hundreds of players who are outside of the Premiership and the Championship that are good enough and hungry enough to want to succeed. Give me a player who is technically an ok footballer but he has hunger, desire, commitment and is determined and hard working, over a player who is technically brilliant but does not have the same attributes as listed above, every time. You only have to see Mario Balotelli play once to find out the reason why he will never become a footballing legend, because he does not have the right mental attributes you need to be a successful enough footballer. He goes to prove that you have to have more than just footballing ability to become a World Class footballer.

In one way I am looking forward to the Summer to see who we sign, as we have to be more careful with our money and we may have to take more gambles with signings, which makes us look into the lower leagues. However, I don't think that Slade can be trusted with the money. I just wish we could have a new, young, up and coming manager, that brings new ideas, game plans, philosophies, etc, to the club. I would like to see a young, European manager brought in that has had success at his former club(s), albeit at a lower level, as if it was at a higher level then we would probably be unable to afford it. He should also bring a brand of football similar to what the Middlesboro manager, the ex-Brighton manager Garcia and the Southampton manager Pochettino, have brought to their clubs. Also I would like to see every single age group in the academy, the U21's and the First Team, all play the same brand of football and use the same tactics, etc. So that it would be a lot easier for us to produce more quality young players and it would mean that the gap they make from the Academy to the U21's and First Team is not that big, as they have been used to playing the First Team way, as they have played it and got used to playing it through all of the different age groups. Also, I think we should be appointing managers that fit into our style of play, not us changing the way we play so we get used to the managers style of playing. The club comes before anybody. Swansea have done this for a good few years now. Their academies through every age gap play the same formation, style, etc as their First Team does. You would never see them appointing Sam Allerdyce or Tony Pulis but you could see them appointing Eddie Howe or Arsene Wenger. As the two former managers' way of playing football is the pass and move style, also how Barcelona play. You need good passers, but the players have to be great movers too. That is where Whittinghams game lacks terribly, his lack of movement.

Bloooooobirds.
