Tan's plan.......possibly

Tue Apr 07, 2015 4:35 pm

Reading earlier about the enormous amounts of riches available from the PL (100 million for coming bottom, TV money alone!!).
Is VT clearing the decks this season to have another go next season? Mmmmm

I honestly think it depends on whether or not the Bruno rumour is true.

Maybe, wouldn't surprise me but more likely fed up of paying every month to keep us afloat.

Or getting the monthly outgoings down for someone else. No idea why but I get this feeling Dallas will be our next owner.

Hmm, dunno if that would be worse or better.

Indeed Dalman on autocorrect.

No one has said anything just a pure guess.

Stated this awhile ago! Would seem odd that tan doesn't have plan to have a go next season with new TV deal following season? After all he as slashed expenses drastically so plenty room to manoeuvre :old:

Of course he'll have a crack at the Premier next season with all the riches on offer, Tans not a loser who settles for second best I can assure you :ayatollah:

If he was serious about the PL he wouldn't have appointed slade. He's cutting his losses, literally, and will look to get out once we are paying our own way. Can't blame him either since we've pissed his money away.
What doesn't make sense is why he didn't get the right manager e.g. Pulis, who could forge a team from the talent in the squad. Add 4 or 5 quality signings, ship out 10 or 12, and we could have been right up there.

He got rid of 12m expenses which maybe used to invest in player's next season! Makes economic sense for him! As he wont increase clubs debt?

I can't see him getting rid of £12m annual costs simply to go and spend it again. He had 2 choices - speculate to accumulate and push on and go for promotion from where he could recoup his money, or give up and cash in what he can. He went for thr latter. It's a low risk strategy in theory but he probably didn't predict the fans reaction and lack of support. Slade is a cheap option to assemble a cheap squad with the big hope that he can work wonders on a limited budget. It won't happen IMO and very unlikely to work in the championship.

all things are possible with tan? maybe hes just reducing debt to manageble level then sell us! as premier doesnt interest him any more? very interesting the ammount of ways things can go? :o

I think we love agree the players we had and the estimated wage boll didn't justify our outgoings. Malky and Ole take that blame.

A clear deck for a few push isn't unreadable, a new manager to come in and spend and not have to sell is ideal.

Personally I think he's cutting costs so he doesn't have to put anymore of his cash in, keep the parachute payments the put the club up for sale

If he wants to sell he would get a huge amount more if we were a PL team than a low ranking championship side. That's where I thought he would be more bullish and try to get is straight back up and build on the talent we had buried in our huge squad. Of course it may have proved to be a further waste of money and so I guess he has lost the appetite for the adventure.

That would be in the fans' best interest, what we as fans would like is some honesty from the club about the club's intentions for the coming seasons.

If this is the plan, let it be known and I am sure the fans will fully support the team during this process
