freshen up midfield

Mon Apr 06, 2015 7:38 pm

I am fed up of Whittingham and Gunnarsson playing week in week out with little return. In the remaining games this season let's start with Rawls and Adeyemi in central midfield and give them a chance.

I'd play Whitts and Gunnar up front, they can't be any worse than our strike force

How about trying them out as dual goalies? Whittingham fans are always bleating their hero is being played out of position. Hasn't he been given the chance to impress almost everywhere except goalkeeper?

I can't understand why Slade isn't giving others a chance in midfield at this stage of the season, very odd.

Makes no sense why Ralls and Adeyemi have not started in he middle.

Gunnar hasn't finished a game for ages and Whitts is not a 442 central midfielder

Why did ole and MALKY also stick with those players then?

We're they clueless as well?

I agree with you that neither deserve their starting place at the moment

And neither deserved them every game under previous management but they did play almost every minute under both when available

Whitts should have been dropped about 5months ago, plays to deep and is scared to shoot when near the box,set pieces are shit!time to give someone else a shot

But neither played a rigid 4-4-2 like Slade does, that is the issue.

Also neither were in a position of being lost in midtable with a few games to go, now is the time to be giving the likes of Adeyemi, O'Keefe or even Ralls a but in the centre, lets see if they are any better now when it doesn't matter.

What did we learn losing 0-3 to Bolton? Nothing.

I agree but we were awful under solskjaer only MALKY had us up there challenging with them in the squad

But agree that we should be testing out new partnerships in the middel

I'll be honest I wanted ole gone but I now wish he had been given more time.

Me too, doesn't mean he would have turned it around though

He messed up recruitment and never had the balls to put it right.....

I believe he will be a top coach in the near future, but will need a good DoF

Of course, we will never know. He certainly has more intelligence than Slade though.
