Charlie Adam expresses sadness at Blackpool relegation
By Giuseppe Labellarte, Reporter
Last Updated: Monday, April 6, 2015 at 21:29 UK
Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam has expressed his dismay at seeing former club Blackpool relegated from the Championship.
The 29-year-old joined the Seasiders in 2009, helping them reach the Premier League just a year later before leaving Bloomfield Road to join Liverpool in 2011.
Adam tweeted: "Gutted to see Blackpool relegated today. It's a special club with great supporters and I know they will be back."
Blackpool, bottom for most of the season, saw their fate sealed when Rotherham United's 1-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday left the Tangerines 19 points from safety with just six games left.

Thank f**k. I've always despised that club since that play off final.

Is it really five years since that play off final? Time flies! Not fussed on Blackpool, but just shows how quickly football can change.

Hope we join them. Barber and Bloom are the chuckle brothers, taking fans for mugs. I have no problem what so ever of us being relegated apart from not visiting Wales next season.

Gutted love a good weekend on the piss in Blackpool.

Hopefully in 2027 you'll get the chance to experience a better resort as Cardiff are banned from playing matches at ours on Saturdays and bank holidays at 3pm which is why we play each other in the winter months and on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.

Nova, just out of interest, & changing the subject, but how did Russell Slade do when he was your manager? What's your thoughts on him??

There aren't many owners in British football that are more criminal than Tan, but Oysten has got to be the worst.

I can still remember them Singing "we are Premier League say we are Premier League!"
I bet those same fans haven't been singing for a while now, in fact I bet they stopped caring a long time ago!

Yes and it'll be the same next season as well should we avoid relegation. Leeds Millwall and Palace are also in the special club of not being allowed at ours on Saturdays or bank holidays.
The police are worried you'd bring your full allocation (Saturdays) and with that they assume will increase the odds of disorder in Brighton as there is history between both sets of fans at our place.
The police don't understand that Cardiff are a reformed club and aren't like they were at Ninain and it's time the police realised that and started treating Cardiff fans with the same respect like they do with all other clubs that visit.
