What was Fabio like today?

Mon Apr 06, 2015 5:46 pm

Unfortunatly I couldnt be at the game today and probably best jugging from the result.

Quick question to anyone who was there today, what was Fabio like?

I have to be honest and say I dread seeing his name in our defensive lineup as I know he will cost us goals. If we played with three centre halves with two attacking wing backs then Fabio and Mallone would be a good shout. But with Fabio as part of a flat back four we are two easy to beat.

Am I being harsh or was that fair today?

He was hit and miss, but as you said, he is a wing back and Russ want a 1980's flat back 4......

His usual mixed bag really full of effort but he gets exposed to easily for someone who is most probably one of our highest earners. If it was one of our younger players ie Declan John you may cut him some slack but he is a luxury we can ill afford

Craig Davies done Fabio and made a better angle for himself to get his shot off for the third goal ..... from the far right of the penalty area

Davies scored his first goal from a similar position ..... although shadowed by Manga he still managed to get a fierce shot in from a tighter angle and score

Should have been a hat trick for the Wales striker somehow hitting Marshall's legs ..... from an easy chance

One of his worst games for a while. I like him and prefer him to Malone, but I do agree he would be better used as a wing back. I think most of our players suit a 3-5-2 better than a 4-4-2

Marshall

------ Manga Morrison Turner

Fabio ----------------------------- Malone

------ Whitts Gunnarson Ralls

------- McAleny
-------- Revell

Struggle to get Kennedy in the side though and for me he must start

Thanks all

I we can have two ways of playing 4-4-2 and 5-3-2 then we have options and change the game by using strategic subs.

At the moment I fear that sticking to the 4-4-2 when we dont have the players who can play that way, plus it makes it easy for the opposition to work us out.

I like Fabio but only in a 5-3-2 line up, going for a 4-4-2 we will always conceed and we are not exactly a high scoring team to make up for goals that we give up.

Cheers
